I have a 4" 9mm service barrel laying around and thought about giving it some threads.

The barrel functions just fine in the 3" subcompact.

Need to know what length the barrel should be cut down to (if cut at all) and what are the standard thread for a 9mm.

Not saying it wouldn't work, but there is a slight increase in diameter at the end of your barrel.  This lets it lock up tight when in battery and slide more free as soon as it drops.  It may function OK in the sub, but would not lock up tight and accuracy would suffer.  If you are OK with that then:
