I kind of doubt it now days. With the FBI switching back to 9mm, there is a perceived move back to 9 mm in the CCW world. I think that the day of the .40 Smith and Wesson may be over. I used to want one of these in .40. I'm over that now.

They have said multiple times that there is no plan for a .40 Xds.

My first pistol was a 40. Full size 2 tone XDm. I still love that pistol. But I doubt I'll ever buy another 40 caliber. Since then I have XDms in 9 and 45 and I prefer them.
