THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
A little background info first:
A good friend of mine is a reserve deputy with local Sherriff's department. He's also on the dept's SWAT team.

The dept uses Glock 21's as their primary issue sidearm. And to be on the SWAT team, a deputy has to score 90 or better on pistol qualification.

My friend shoots very regularly to keep his skills up, usually 2 or 3 times a week. He constantly raves about how much he likes his Glock 21 and how well he shoots it, always scoring 90 - 92 during qualification with a "once in a blue moon" 94.

Now for the funny...

We went to the range where he qualifies to get a little trigger time because I hadn't shot my pistols in a couple of months and also because he wanted to stay sharp for qualification.

Well, we get there and he goes through a couple of mags to warm up. Then he's off to the qualification lane to practice the required course of fire. He shoots it and scores a 92. He runs it again and scores another 92.

He's looking over my XD45 Tactical and asks to shoot it because he's never fired one before, so I hand him the pistol & a couple of loaded mags and tell him to run the qualification lane with it. He does and scores a 100. He couldn't believe it so he reloads the mags and runs it again. Another 100.

I know, I know..."Cool Story, Bro"...but I just had to laugh & wanted to share it here because of how much shit XD shooters get from the Glock fanbois.

BTW- Not single failure with either the XD or the Glock and a good time was had by all.

I will admit that my XD45 Tactical has a great trigger....I sent it to Springer Precision and had a trigger job & "Factory Cleanup" done on it...

i've got 3 buddies (1 sherriff deputy, and 2 reserve officers) that are just apeshit in love with Glock... understandably since they do have to carry them on duty, but everytime one of them shoots my XD they most reservedly say how much they like it. I shoot their Glocks and to me they are fine, but just don't feel the same to me at all.

The Glock is a harder gun to shoot well IMO. The XD, with the short SA trigger and better ergos, not so much.

on a similar note i spent last week at a high risk warrant operations class. we spent 3 full days on the range. 2 guns went down... both glocks. every 1911 on the range was fine as well as my xd45 tactical i carry.
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in
defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more
important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is
supplemental.

You should post this in the handguns forum, so the foaming at the mouth glock fanbois can urinate and lament about what a falsehood you proclaim.
