It's not as fancy as many posted here, but here's mine.

I was gifted a 686 (no dash, no M) 6" about a year ago.  I put less than 1/2 box of ammo through it and decided that it was going to do nightstand duty or get traded off unless I start pig hunting again.  It just didn't do anything for me and I've got better carry options.

I was surfing Ebay one day and found a 4" barrel for less than $50. I wouldn't be out much if it didn't work, so I snagged it.....best change I've ever made to a firearm.  It's now one of my favorites and gets carried often.

4" no-dash 686 is, IMO, the perfect .357 revolver.  I ordered one before they were released and had it in my hands within a couple days of the actual release.  I regrettably sold it to get more cash for a house down payment.  I've been looking for it ever since.  I've only found one other one for sale since and didn't have the cash for it at the time.  Mine was a laser.  I competed with it against guys shooting custom PPC guns and came in 3rd overall more than once.  The only thing I did to mine was to change from the stock grips to a set of Pachmayr Gripper Professonals on it.

S&W Model 10-5 made in 1971 and a Colt Police Positive Special made in 1958. Both are police surplus guns that have been ridden hard and put away wet. Though they're visually unappealing, they're mechanically perfect and still great shootets.

There's a lot to love about a cosmetically challenged revolver that is in sound working condition! Especially the price...

I just found this Unicorn in a local shop for $1305 OTD.  The last time I saw one of these in a local shop was 2007.  Even came with these Combats.  They're not correct for this gun, but who complains about free Combats on a gun?

Picked up a new-to-me revolver yesterday and put some rounds through it too.

2 1/2” seven shot Scandium and Ti L frame S&W 386.
At 19oz it’s all but weightless on the belt. Definitely carry a lot, shoot a little when loaded with 357s.

That might be fun w/ wadcutters or Cowboy Action loads, little else.  I'd like a titanium 9x19mm cylinder in a 640 or 649, but only to help the DA pull.

After having shot 50 PMC Bronze 132gr 38spl FMJs, 917fps MV, and one cylinder of PMC 158gr 357 JSP, 1,471fps, I would agree.

But it’s not a range toy. At 19oz it’s for carry.

I bought it to be my hunting, fishing, hiking carry revolver. Carry a lot, shoot a little (with self defense ammo, as opposed to wadcutters or cowboy action ammo.)

Here’s a comparison photo next to a 3” Model 60, which weighs 4oz more and served in a similar role.

And here is my 357 target, shot double action at 7yds. The first three I managed to ignore the abuse, but that was enough and the final four were awful.

ETA: Here’s the 386 in an inexpensive holster I managed to find. It’s remarkably comfortable to wear AIWB strong side or cross draw or at 2:30-3:30. It’s just slightly more noticeable than my 638 or 37, which I will forget are there. Similar to carrying my Agent.

I don't have many wheel guns. This is my 64 I bought as a rough trade in. Refreshed the lock work and had it blasted. Polished up the hammer and trigger surfaces that ride the frame and same with the rebound spring housing. Did not and will not stone any sear surfaces. It's well within factory pull specs but oh so smooth.

A fine gun!
Carried one on duty for 15 years, and it and I qualified with a max score every yearly qualification.
Dry fired that thing so many times, I could probably hit a target with my eyes closed from muscle memory alone.

Thank you. It's a accurate and good shooter that's for sure. Carries very well also. I've got a 65 on the bench getting the same treatment. Hoping it will be done soon.

When Recoil or AIM had some in from the NY DOC, I didn't sit round.  I was too slow on the 65s sadly and the price has gone up. I paid the vintage pinned and recessed Smith tax. Same as you, I want shooters so buying the cheaper rough condition models doesn't bother me. I have way less into the 64 than I do the 65. But the 65 is still cheaper than what I would've paid for a nicer example. I was blown away at what they cost now.
