If you have a description or perhaps a story or two about the one on the bottom, I'd like to hear it.

It's a Mateba 2006M with a 2" barrel.

http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Mateba_2006M

Not much other to explain, except that it takes a bit to get used to indexing the cylinder at the 6 oclock position when loading less than 6 rounds.

My S&W 25-2 .45 ACP.

I bought it used in the early 90's for around $400.  The original owner butchered the trigger. You could push it off when it was cocked.  I gave it to Magna Port for an action job, removed the serrations from the trigger, narrowed it and polished the trigger and hammer. The barrel was cut to four inches and ported, each chamber is numbered and chamfered.  Finally the sharp edges of the cylinder release have been rounded.  The whole gun was re-blued in a matte finish.

The grips are an old set of Herretts that I slimmed down.  One of the corners chipped.  I need to Acraglass it to fill in the missing wood.

You're thinking of the semi-auto Mateba 6 Unica.

The 2006M is not semi auto.

I just got my grandfather's Model 1905, 4th change M&P .38 Special.

I don't know it's full history yet, but I do know my grandfather didn't buy it new. He bought it within the last 20 years from his brother in law, who had gotten it from a jewelry store owner.

With a 484XXX serial number, I've figured it to be between 1923 and 1926 without looking to hard.

And, I even got the box with it

The gun came with the nicer set.  I've seen prices kind of all over.  I paid $35 for the older slightly crustier set that are pictured off the gun.

I’m using moon clips and a speed strip. I made a kydex belt carrier with a wood post in the middle to support the clip so it wouldn’t bend, and haven’t had any issues yet. I’m going to to refine my design, at some point, then I’ll post some pictures. My dad is turning me a delrin dowel to act as the support piece.

I had a double moon clip carrier, but it was a bit too bulky. At some point I want to get a speedbeez speedloader setup and try that, but money got a little tight over the last few months.

It is pretty wild, but not too awful. The gun is a joy to shoot between the Performance Center action job and the Lothar Walther barrel. When I do my part, I can ring a 3” target at 10 yards consistently with it.

I have “better” carry guns, but I find myself grabbing it often because I’m confident in its accuracy and reliability.

Are the belt carriers the type where half the loader sits inside the belt? Seems like 8 rounds would be a bit obnoxious sticking out on the belt. I know 6 is.

Yeah, my original idea was IWB, but I have been meaning to try a modified version that is OWB. It was more the length of two moonclips than the width that I found annoying.

Gooch I think we have similar tastes.

Your Colt is nicer than my S&W M&P, but my S&W has fewer scuffs. All four are pretty exceptional for guns this old.

I really want to shoot my M&P. It has a magnificent trigger pull, and since it is a bit scuffed, I'm not too concerned with putting a few rounds through it. However, I read that M&P's from this era had non-hardened cylinders, so I need to be careful with what load I use. I will probably stick with some light cowboy action loads or some weak PPU 158gr LRN I have on hand. I have some trail boss powder, I might make some light handloads for it.

Yeah they weren't hardened until about 1918. Any standard pressure lead bullet load would be fine, but I don't think K frames were really ever intended to shoot thousands of rounds (except maybe the K22s) and shrug it off.
