Picked up this little treat the other day.

My cursory research indicates that 150 were made in year 2000 to commemorate Jerry Miculek firing a record setting 8 rounds from a revolver on target in one second.

Performance Center 627-3 with 3" barrel, SN# JMA0XXX, 8 round cylinder in 357 and cut for moon clips.

Does anyone else have any info on this revolver?

What is that you wrap your grips with?  And why do you?  For me I need a bit more girth to help keep my right thumb out of the way when I tuck it down.  But I've just been using rubber bands.......

Looks like hockey tape to me. I’ve done that a couple of times. Works and you can always pull it off and re-wrap it when it gets nasty.

Yeah, looks like that to me too.  I'm not sure I'd want to deal with the sticky mess, if that's what that is.  I would think when it gets warm it would be sticky.   But rubber bands might not be the best.  Although the only downside I can see so far is it leaves indentations against my skin from not being smooth.

Finally "finished" my 627...for now.

I sent it of for trigger work earlier in the year and replaced the grips with rubber, non-finger grove.

A few days ago I added an 8MOA Burris FastFire III with a mount from Allchin (which is an awesome piece).

I hate you.  Not really, but really really jealous.
Out of all the guns I've owned and traded / sold, my no dash 686 4" is the one I kick my ass about every time I think about it.  Or in this case, every time I see a no dash 586/686.

I know that feeling.  I had a pristine no dash 66 4" that I'd do unspeakable things to get back.  My buddy has a no dash 4" 686 that I'm lusting after, but he just won't come off it.
