The extractor rod keeps coming lose on my 686P.

Is it OK to put a dab of blue loctite on the threads?

I have to retighten it after every 7 shots, gets quite old.

Strangely, even if I really put some torque on it with a pair of soft jaw pliers, it still seems to work lose.

The revolver is in otherwise excellent shape.

Had to use Loctite on several revolvers.  Don't remember what color.

Is a left hand thread used on the extractor rod?

Blue Loctite will do ya fine. Make sure to degrease the threads, and you're G2G.

Vibra-tite works pretty well.

I've got a Colt "Agent" that the ejector rod looses sporadically... I'm thinking of putting a few dabs of Purple LocTite on the threads!
