Picked up a 19-2 this week which makes three M19's in the last three months.

...and a family pic.

Those look wonderful, and make my 19-4 look like a beater

My 19-3 on the upper left is in about the same shape as yours. I may send it back to the mothership and get it redone in nickel. The new 19-2 is in very good shape for its age, which is within a few months of my age. Wish I was in that kind of shape.

I always figured mine was an old cop gun

holster wear, but timing, endshake, etc., perfect, no flame cutting.

The first one looks like an older revolver.   Beauty.   Is the front sight base pinned on?

What a coincidence. I picked up my first Model 19, and my first classic S&W revolver ever in July.

Model 19 pic thread. Woo hoo!

This is my Model 19-3 with a 3 inch barrel and a brass front sight. I can shoot six inch groups at 25 yards using single action.

Like an idiot... I passed on one for $350.

Those 3 inch Model 19's are rare. That is a good snag right there.

Yes, it is. You can just see the two pins in the polished flat below the front sight base. Plus, it is pretty obvious when you look from the muzzle. I had not noticed that. Thanks for asking.

I happened into my first model 19, a 19-3 about a month ago for $340 shipped.  I was looking for a four inch, but couldn't pass it up at the price.  It is now wearing S&W wood target grips.

That is a excellent price. I would have grabbed that one too. Eventually I will get a 6inch. I have just seen more 4inch lately.

The RB is the one that took over night stand duty. For me, a 4inch RB Model 19 is the perfect service revolver.

Yeah, I have a model 64 RB 4 inch that is just awesome, still trying to find a 65 3" though, or a 13 3" that won't break the bank.  Almost impossible anymore.

Nice pieces all around! I have a factory nickel 2.5 inch 19-5 and I am looking for a ballpark value.
Thanks.

Depends a lot on condition. If it is 90% or better I would say $700-1000 depending on how high up the scale. A unfired specimen with box, accessories and papers would bring big bucks these days.

Picked up this 19-5 from a friend who took it in trade:

Tossed the Pachmayr grips it was wearing, they were falling apart anyways.  Put on a spare set of target grips.  Lock up is tight, but a lot of holster wear.  And the single action trigger is way light, far too light for me.

Planning on getting a factory refinish in the future.

OK.  I will play.

both of these 19s are pinned are recessed.  One square butt, one round butt.

Both have Spegel boot grips that I waited for one year and well worth the wait:

Some sharp looking guns in here, my first wheel gun was a 6" model 19.

My 6" 19, I need to get newer pics with the square butt retro finger grooved Ahrends.  This is the gun that got my parents into revolver shooting; they now have a 4" 686+, 4" 28-2 and Model 60 Pro 3" between the 2 of them since this past summer :)  Awesome trigger, great sights, nice weight/balance to it, too.

Some GREAT looking revolvers.
Thanks for sharing.
Don't have any 19s left but a few 60s, 66s, 686s, and 629s.

It's not pretty but it soon will be. I picked this 19-5 recently, it has a busted rear sight and the side plate is pretty scratched up but the rest of the metal is absolutely beautiful. Soon as I can find both of those parts and add a set of factory Target grips, it going to S&W to get nickeled.

Won't be able to make it for Christmas, but Dad will be getting this for Father's Day next year.

It must be because I picked up a 2.5 inch 19-4 with the original box and paperwork in nickel
