Wondering if any of you carry older revolvers, or oddball style revolvers?

Mine is actually doing just that because it needs the timing fixed and I'd rather be carrying it. It was my first carry gun. It was made in 1966. |

So it's hard for me to blame a guy for wanting to keep a nice original one, well, nice and original. There are plenty of new revolvers with that fit the bill nicely and they are made everyday. Maybe with MIM and other cost cutting measures but they still work and you won't feel bad about banging them around. I must admit that I throw my 629-4 on my hip while hiking even though I realize S&W will never make 629s quite of that quality again. Beautiful DS BTW. |

You're making me hurt real bad. The pawn shop only asked $160 for it, the lowest they would go was $150. Still passed it up, this was only a month or two back. I read mixed reviews on them and it was pretty damn well beat, still should have shelled out the bucks. |

View Quote I recently bought an older hi power off a retired man. He told me that he purchased so many guns a year while he was still drawing a salary, some that he bought for shooting and practical use, and some that be bought as investments, or safe queens, depending on how you look at it. Now he's slowly selling his collection to subsidize retirement. I thought it was genius. My hi power was born in '82, I bought it practically BNIB. He did well, to say the least. I carry a S&W 19-5 in the woods. Not pinned and recessed, so I'm not scared of sweating on it. |
