I want one of those, to match my 686. Even have a holster for it now.

Sweet.

I picked up an old K22 but I only shot it once or twice in the three years I owned it.   I have to drag it out.

Better yet, a trifecter for 6XX's in 4's by adding a 629:

Nice revolver.

I have a 617-2 with the alloy cylinder, 6" bbl. 10rd, shoots wonderfully.

My six inch 617 is probably my favorite of my revolvers and probably one of my favorite handguns in general... BUT the extra two inches of steel really begins to get heavy after a couple of hours of hiking around the property.  I'd LOVE one of these four inchers as well, that looks like a FANTASTIC piece!  Congrats.

Oh man, now I'm really jealous.  Two great revolvers in a short period of time.  You suck.    JK, looks like you'll be having some fun!!!

Love my 4" 617. Great shooter.
Shoots great groups with CCI STD velocity.
I put a Wolff reduced power mainspring in mine.
Smoothed it out a bit.

I finally found a 6in this year. I have looked for years to find one with a reasonable price.

I want one, just can't find a deal.  LGS has a used one for $700...not when I can buy new for the same price...sorry.

I have the 6" version of that 617.  I found 10-round speedloaders and a 100-round loading block from "ds10speed"

I have kind of felt that way in the past but I have 4" 18-4 that sits in the safe and never gets taken out - it has been several years now and I'm thinking of selling it and picking up another 19 or 66.

Just having trouble finding 22LR or is it that you just don't like the gun?

Nah, have ammo; and it shoots fine - just doesn't seem to interest me.

I'm wanting to buy a 6" 617 and have it
Cut to 5" & profiled to SSR style bbl.
617 SSR/pro series basically.

Fair enough. I think a 22LR revolver is alotta fun and still relatively cheap to shoot. I still need a K frame to go with my 63 no dash. That J frame is nice and light though.

Nice snag on that 617.

I bought mine a couple of years ago or so, and even then it was almost impossible to find it in 4".

I really didn't want the 6" because I had shot one and didn't like the muzzle heavy feel.

I was patient and watched the online sites and finally found one at Buds which I grabbed immediately.

To a man, everyone whom I've let shoot mine have gone out in search of their own.

Nice, sounds like you had a great time.

And this thread is a good luck charm, I finally found myself a K frame 22 a couple days ago. 1952 pre-model 17 6", original grips.

I might have to cave on a new 6" 617 for sale locally. Kinda wish it was a 4" like yours though, full underlug 6" in a .22 might be a bit overkill.

I just put 1000 rounds through it last week.

God I love shooting it. It's a blast pranging away at steel.

Love my revolvers, have a mod 17-3, and a mod 18-5. Not as sexy as the mod 41's, but great to shoot. My 17 stays out when I am at the farm, looking for snakes and such.....
