Had a 6.5" and sold it.  

Saw this 5.5" at the local gunstore and liked the balance of it.

I usually like the blued steel,  but the stainless with the wood grips really looked good.

Stainless, Ruger bluing is somewhat mehh on handguns and most rifles.

Scored my 5.5 SBH blued used in oct '08 $250 no bluing issue. But I'd love a stainless version.

I like blued for my cowboy stuff, but for the Blackhawk, stainless was the only way to go.

Good choice.   Easier to change front sights if you want to.

I prefer blue myself. If I am going for something lighter in color I'd go whole hog and do nickel.

Depends on what you are using it for. I personally prefer blued guns but, I got my super blackhawk as a camping, fishing, beating around in the woods type gun. For that purpose I think stainless is the logical choice. I went with the 4 5/8" with un-fluted cylinder fwiw.
