Quoted: I like that 60 a LOT. And yeah, that Model 13 is pretty awesome JBT. The GP100 is probably a really good gun, but I don't like the way they look. I know, stupid reason to not like it. LOL. |

Love my 342.
You should get a standard size (not big dot) XS front night sight installed. Best upgrade ever for my BUG along with 5-Shot Leather ankle rig |

Yeah, the .357's aren't fun at all. It bruises my palm and I can feel it all the way up in my shoulder. I can do about 3 cylinders and I'm done. I practice with +p's and then finish with the magnums. It isn't really that bad. I shoot it about once every other week.
If you had the eye those are .38 special +p Speer Gold Dot short barrel rounds. i used to carry with the Speer gold dot magnums but it was too much. |

Great fun...for one cylinder a session. Screenshot_2015-01-13-15-11-13 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr" /> Not mine. I've no use for such a beast. |

Here is what happens when you run too hot a load through one. These were loads that I had been running through a Ruger 77/357. They seemed okay in the rifle so I stuck some in the smith. On the second shot cylinder went kaboom. Sent if off to Smith to see if the problem was with the cylinder. The load was 5 grains of unique under a cast 195 grain bullet. Mid range load according to the data I found. I had fired about 30 rounds through a Ruger 77/357 with no problems and decided to try them in the smith. No double charge. I use a flashlight and check the powder height in every case before putting a slug on top. |

It's interesting that 90% of blown up guns are blown by reloads but only 10% of reloaders admit they may have made a mistake. Anyway... Just picked up a 1952 baby J. It has some minor holster wear, buggered screws, and had push off issues due to a Bubba trigger job. 20150322_004932 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr Once I get a proper set of grips on it it'll be good to go. I fixed the push off issue earlier today. I normally don't take in troubled guns, but this one was irresistible. |

I've never seen those grips RickA. Those are weird. Maybe in a good way? But they look way newer than the gun. What are they?

But the looks have grown on me. After shooting mine and liking it a lot (442), it takes on a new look. hehehehe One thing that strikes me that seems to aid in shootability is that it seems like the way the shape of the frame is, allows you to put it deep in your hand and the barrel is not as high over your hands as a lot of other revolvers. You know how a lot of people talk about a Glocks "low bore axis". Well that sucker has a pretty low bore axis. IMHO. |

I've noted that many carry HPs in their snubs. Real world shootings have shown that most of the time, when shooting out of snubs, that they very very rarely open up, and tend to have similar wound characteristics of round nose projectiles.
Hot loaded Wadcutters tend to cut impressive wound channels and penetrate well. Check out Doc GKRs extensive earch on the subject. Cheers |

StraightSix, yours is looking good too with those stocks/grips. The .32 Mag is a lot of fun, and can be stepped up. Buffalo Bore makes a +P 100 grain HP that will clock almost 1300 FPS from a 3" bbl. More than 300 FP of energy will at least get someone's attention. I ordered the 3" bbl specifically to get a little more oomph out of it. I also like that it's a 6 shot J Frame. Women I've shot with (none of them very experienced shooters) much preferred the .32 Mag over the .357's. |

Where do you get the belt clip? Amazon? It is called the clip draw. I can't imagine carrying my J any other way. Plus, I never leave home without it. It HATE shit in my pockets so this fits the bill nicely. It is like $15 or so. Some people hate them but I love them. No, it doesn't wobble cant. It stays put. Just bend the tab a little to get it to make a tighter fit. I have used them for YEARS. |
