Could any of you give me any info on a M-10 I bought yesterday?

4 inch pinned barrel, serial # V544xxx   P

There's no lanyard ring but I believe I see a faint circular mark on the butt where it may have been milled off

Also it's stamped 38 S&W cartridge on the barrel. It appears to me that the cylinder's been reamed to accept .38 special


It's in poor condition finish wise but mechanically is in good shape.

Do I likely have a British return? Would it be safe to fire with mild wadcutter loads?

I was going to post some pics of my M10 but cannot find where you attach pics in a post. Most forums have a "manage attachments"  section that I am familiar with...nothing like that here??
