And an easy 500-550 or even 600 in box with papers here in North Fl. By the way, seems like some Smith boxes are worth quite a bit by themselves, and original stocks bring good money as well.
Mdl 19s for sale are few and far between around here. most people dont sell them. |

i bought my pristine condition 19-3 2.5" in 2010 for 400, nowadays, i'd not part with her for less than 650-700. some of that is personal value, but realistically, most peoiple who own a model 19 own it for personal value, which is why their real value is going up.

Just bought a 15 in that condition in Dallas for $600, and felt real good about it. Would have paid the same for a 19. Here, the 6" would be about $100 less than the 4". My theory is the 4" is still a good carry gun so the K frame is desirable, but if you want. 6", you might as well get the heavier L frame.

I bought a 4" Model 66 No-Dash in 98% condition, still tight, with original Box and Doc.s for $675.00 last year. Guess you can use that as your yardstick.

The prices given are all in the realistical range but to establish an exact value is very hard on a gun that is not longer manufactured and that is drawing more and more widespread collectors interest.
The M19 could be ordered in several different configurations, from different front sight styles to target hammers and triggers. If the grips are original it also adds to the value of the gun. S&W FGC grips are sought after items that bring around $125 to $150 alone if sold separately. Oh, and prices have risen more and more in the past years. |
