THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Found one of those S&W 632 carry comps for $650, and while I like the looks of the gun, I question the price and avalability of the ammo. I've heard good reviews on the 327, but it never caught on.

.327 is a niche cartridge whose sole purpose is to squeeze a sixth round into j-frame sized revolvers.
It's my opinion that having one extra round in a wheel gun is not worth the price and limited availability of the ammo.

I don't know enough about terminal ballistics to comment on that aspect.

As said, the .327 is a niche round. It is a modern .32-30, but was marketed as a SD/HD round with short barreled revolvers, instead of a small game/trail pistol. This was done because marketing thought this would increase sales. Time has proven marketing wrong.

In a 3" barrel, the full power rounds have a loud muzzle blast.

The 115gr GD round has the same exterior ballistics as some 9x19+P rounds, but the bullet has the SD of a 147gr 0.355" bullet. This means that this round tends to penetrate rather deeply (16" to 18" in 10% Gel). The 100gr GD is a more balanced choice, but is difficult to find.

The .327 is like carrying a 6 shot 9x19 revolver. More capable than a similar sized .38 Special, but with less felt recoil than a similar sized .357 Magnum.

You can also shoot the .32 H&R, .32 S&W Long, and .32 S&W out of a .327.

Not so interested in a little .327 but I want a 6" freedom arms .327 for hunting.

CDNN has a bunch of them at clearance prices. What else do you need to know?
I've tried to see things from the liberal point of view ... but I'm just not flexible enough to get my head up my ass.

Here's mine at 1 o'clock;

Ruger SP101 w/ 3 1/16"barrel, Hogue rosewood grips. Good shooter at handgun ranges..,327 magnum roars and twists like most shorty magnums..and probably shoots flame 4' at night. I carry in a Simply Rugged pancake. Shoot 85 gr Hydra-Shok JHP and 100 gr JSP in carry mode..plink with Fiocchi 100 gr LWC 32 S&W

I have a lifetime supply of ammunition accumulated when was kind of scarce in my area and a reloading friend that can keep me from running dry now that dies are available.

I like the pistol however it won't do anything that the other 3" S&W .357's in my pix can't

Was kind of hoping that Marlin would come out with a short lever gun - either 336 or Cowboy.

Like all Rugers well built but a trifle on the heavy side for some folks.

I rented a SP101 at the local gun shop.

I must say that I was impressed: the .327 Fed Mag has some ass behind that bullet. Squeezing a sixth shot into a "five shot gun" - yes, please! That you can use milder loads (like .32 H&R Mag) is nice too.

My only qualm is that ammunition availability isn't really mainstream for the most part.

I think it's a winning idea, but, then again, so was the .41 Magnum and the 9mm Federal.

I wish Ruger would have chambered the Single Six for the .327 Fed like they did with the .32 H&R Mag instead of the larger Blackhawk. The Single Six in said chambering would have made a great trail/small game gun if it could handle the extra pressure. Most reloaders have be loading the H&R to Federal balistics for years. And since the 7.65mm Browning aka .32 ACP is a semi rimmed case you might be able to shoot them out of your pistol also.
