Started with this...
Heritage rough rider for my son.  Attached FileThen got a 5.5” Cimarron Model P in .357 a week later.  Attached FileThen picked up a 4.75” Great Western II in .357 about 5 days later.  Attached FileMonday I bought a 7.5” Uberti Cattlemen in .357 on GB and hope to have it early next week. I’ve been playing around making grips as well. The grip on the 5.5” is cedar and I made the walnut one as well. Gonna try an Oak and Cherry next. |

So after a trip to the Little Bighorn battlefield recently, I got all froggy and ordered an Uberti 1873 Springfield Carbine reproduction (.45-70) and a Cimarron 7th Cavalry Uberti model P SAA (.45 Colt) with 7.5" barrel. I have the Springfield figured out and am shooting factory and reloads using smokeless powder that replicate the .45-55 cavalry era load performance-wise.
I plan to do the same with the pistol, but have not received it yet. What am I in for and for those of you who reload smokeless for the SAA, what are your favorite loads? I know I'm getting into a sticky area and that reloading can be dangerous if not done correctly, but I'd still like to know what works for you and your SAAs. Thanks! |

Sheriffs model with the birds head grip(better grip for two hand hold); and based on the Super Blackhawk frame, it handles my hot 45 Colt hand loads like a champ. It's a real hand canon. |

I keep debating on mounting a scope on my Super Black Hawk for deer hunting. It would make the gun more useable for my aging eyes, but it ruins the lines.

You might go to CAS City Powder Room . They can tell you about reloading smokeless or Black Powder. With the current ammo shortage, I am reloading my .45 Colt pistol rounds with BP and saving my factory rounds for my 1892 LA rifle. |

It's pretty easy to duplicate the original BP 45 Colt load with smokeless powder. 6.0 gr. of Red Dot or 6.4 grs. of 700-X powder are a couple that do it. A Lyman 454190 mold casts a duplicate of the original 250 gr. bullet which looks like those pictured here-  If you don't/don't want to cast, Rim Rock Bullets sells one that's pretty close. Reloading can be dangerous, but I've been doing it for about 45 years now, started when I was 12, and I'm in far, far greater danger driving a vehicle than I ever was reloading. Before you sally forth to YouTube to learn to reload, remember that anyone with a video camera and a YouTube channel can call themselves an expert. Just get a good, comprehensive manual like a Lyman and read. |

Mid frame, flat top Bisley in .44spl. Been reading a bunch of Skeeter stuff and decided I needed to see if he really knew his business...
 I've got 200 pieces of brass coming and I've already got a ton of Unique and Keith bullets. Going to try my hand at powder coating the ones I've been casting as well. Pic from the seller, I'll get some better stuff this weekend.  Attached File |

Taylor's & Co Smoke Wagon in .44 WCF.
Not too much of a fan of Taylor's new grips. Their logo looks a little tacky and out of place so I will be replacing them with something else shortly. I also will be converting the 3-click action over to an original 4-click with the retrofit parts.  |

All Uberti colt SAA clones have the 3 click going on several years now. It only takes 2 parts, a new trigger and hammer. Taylors sells the conversion parts on their website. |

After some time with my Ruger Vaquero in .40 S&W and the Lawrence rig, I wanted another matching Vaquero and a double holster rig as I draw, shoot, and hit as well with either hand. even at once.
