Counting my 8 Black Powder revolvers (pictured elsewhere in this thread) this makes my 14th single-action revolver. I just picked it up this week. It's a Taylor's and Company (Uberti) 1858 conversion. Trigger pull measures about 4 pounds. Just ignore the other one which is an H&R 925 my FFL had when I picked up the 1858, but this is the only photo I have.

If I edited the post above it's more than likely because I suck at typing. If I didn't, I was either in too big of a hurry or just missed it.

Here's my Ruger New Model Blackhawk 3.75" Bisley 45 convertible (model 0475). I sent the grip frame up to Chig's in MO to have these Walnut burl grips fitted and shimmed up the hammer & trigger and installed Wolff's 30oz trigger & 19lb hammer springs when I put it all back together. I really like this gun now, it looks and feels so much better. Here is a couple of crappy cell phone pics, I need to take it outside and get a good picture of it wearing the new grips.

It shoots a bit to the left and is consistent between three shooters. Once I figured out the hold I was good. We only shot 3 boxes of my stash so far, but I wish I bought this gun 30 years ago. What a blast to shoot! EAR TO EAR GRIN!! |

4 5/8" New Model Blackhawk is a beater I picked up off a local forum for $325. The front sight was bent, the grip frame is chipped up and there is some light rust freckling. I'm gonna send the frame out and have it re-coated and have the front sight replaced with a different style. The Super Blackhawk is my very first handgun I bought when I was sixteen or so. Paid $200 and tax for her at a local gun show back in '86. The New Model Vaquero is one of the Lipsey .44 Specials. Bought her new when they came out. I ordered a set of Chig's ivory micarta grips. I'll add a pic in a bit. Steve |

I'm working on buying another Vaquero. Lol The price for fitting is included when you buy the blanks. So, no charge. It is all included except shipping if I remember right. I'm pretty sure he explains it on his website. Steve |

I picked this well worn three screw Ruger Single Six up from a seller on a local forum today. She has seen alot of action. At first it seemed her timing was off on one chamber and the lock up is pretty loose. I took her down all the way and cleaned her real good. I think the timing issue was just dirt, hardened oil and grease. She seems ok now. Still loose. She probably needs a new hand and bolt. But what really got me interested are the stag grips. The seller claims they are original factory stags. The black Phoenix is correct for that era and the yellowing of the stag is about right for its age. It just might be a mystery if they are or are not since there are some fakes out there. Ruger or whoever made them didn't put a makers mark inside the grips which is how the originals are supposed to be. I guess it is all about the placement of the medallions and how they are staked to the stag. Anybody know anything about factory Ruger stag grips? Steve |
