Counting my 8 Black Powder revolvers (pictured elsewhere in this thread) this makes my 14th single-action revolver. I just picked it up this week. It's a Taylor's and Company (Uberti) 1858 conversion. Trigger pull measures about 4 pounds.  Just ignore the other one which is an H&R 925 my FFL had when I picked up the 1858, but this is the only photo I have.

Here's my Ruger New Model Blackhawk 3.75" Bisley 45 convertible (model 0475). I sent the grip frame up to Chig's in MO to have these Walnut burl grips fitted and shimmed up the hammer & trigger and installed Wolff's 30oz trigger & 19lb hammer springs when I put it all back together. I really like this gun now, it looks and feels so much better. Here is a couple of crappy cell phone pics, I need to take it outside and get a good picture of it wearing the new grips.

The new grips look great.  I admit I really like the black laminate ones your gun originally wore.  Should I ever find myself with extra cash I will find a set of the black ones to put on my Bisley Blackhawk convertible (exactly like yours except it has a 5.5" barrel).  It currently wears a set of what I think are rosewood laminate?

Sorry for the photo size, I don't know why it's so dang big.

Picked this up locally. Never heard of them. Previous owner must have taken it apart without knowing how to put it back together, but once I got her fixed up it surprised me how nice the action is. Locks up tighter than my New Vaquero and trigger pull can’t be more than 2.5 lbs at the break. Very little info out there about them.

I've had this gun out twice in the last two weeks.
No complaints!  This is a joy to shoot, solid, and has a well made quality feel to it.
It shoots a bit to the left and is consistent between three shooters.  Once I figured out the hold I was good.
We only shot 3 boxes of my stash so far, but I wish I bought this gun 30 years ago.  What a blast to shoot!

4 5/8" New Model Blackhawk is a beater I picked up off a local forum for $325. The front sight was bent, the grip frame is chipped up and there is some light rust freckling. I'm gonna send the frame out and have it re-coated and have the front sight replaced with a different style.

The Super Blackhawk is my very first handgun I bought when I was sixteen or so. Paid $200 and tax for her at a local gun show back in '86.

The New Model Vaquero is one of the Lipsey .44 Specials. Bought her new when they came out. I ordered a set of Chig's ivory micarta grips. I'll add a pic in a bit.

Started life as a USFA Rodeo.  Had the horrid matte finish removed, Gary Reeder dis the CCH, engravind, gold inlay and fire blued screws.
Joe Perkins of Outlaw Grips made the grips...same as used in 3:10 to Yuma.

Derek, those are Colt grips. The ones that came on that Cimarron fit pretty bad, so when I got it home, I found the Colt grips in my parts drawer. They fit pretty well.

Picked up my first non-.22 rimfire single action. An “old” Vaquero in .45 LC. Came with the horrendous  hogue rubber monogrip and replaced with a set of Chig’s burl oak grips he had on hand.

These polished Vaquero's are just beautiful and I love your grips.

My .44 Special Vaquero's grip frame is at Chig's right now getting fitted for his ivory micarta grips. There is a pic of it a few posts up. I bought the grips from him and foolishly didn't send the grip frame. The grips are just a little proud of the steel and are way too tight and I was afraid I would crack them.

I'm going to send another frame from my Blackhawk for some of his fancy Walnut grips.

Love these six guns, guys. Keep 'em coming please.

Thanks Steve, this will definitely lead to more single actions in my future. Those ivory micartas of yours look like buttery awesomeness. I considered sending in my frame but was in a rush to get it shootable. Do you know what Chig charges for fitting the grips to the frame?

You are welcome.

You can't have too many single actions, right? I'm working on buying another Vaquero. Lol

The price for fitting is included when you buy the blanks. So, no charge. It is all included except shipping if I remember right. I'm pretty sure he explains it on his website.

I picked this well worn three screw Ruger Single Six up from a seller on a local forum today.

She has seen alot of action. At first it seemed her timing was off on one chamber and the lock up is pretty loose. I took her down all the way and cleaned her real good. I think the timing issue was just dirt, hardened oil and grease. She seems ok now. Still loose. She probably needs a new hand and bolt.

But what really got me interested are the stag grips. The seller claims they are original factory stags. The black Phoenix is correct for that era and the yellowing of the stag is about right for its age. It just might be a mystery if they are or are not since there are some fakes out there. Ruger or whoever made them didn't put a makers mark inside the grips which is how the originals are supposed to be. I guess it is all about the placement of the medallions and how they are staked to the stag.

Anybody know anything about factory Ruger stag grips?

I have no idea how to authenticate a set of Ruger stags , or ivorys either , but do know they were an option in the early days. Factory or not , stags are worth a goodly chunk of money these days.

It's real case hardening done by Longhunter up in Amarillo.  The action work is like wet sex.

They are actually Chigs grips, but they were very thick and round so I reshaped them.
