Davidson's has some of the 4" SP101 in-stock but they are going quick (had 57 on Tuesday and only 37 this morning).

I like the fact this wheelgun can shoot (5) different loads and as a handloader, ammo will always be available.

Would like some input from others about the cartridge ,not the revolver as I own several Rugers already and love them.

TIA

Seems some of the ballistics put it into the low .38" Special class, w/ an extra round in the cylinder, not bad.

I have a box of .327 American Eagle that I don't have a gun for...

Didn't take my glasses to buy ammo and ended up with it.

Will probably end up throwing it in a campfire at some point. Not going to try to sell it or buy a gun to fit.

I'd love to have that SP101 in .327 mag, as well as the Single Six in that caliber but I have more than enough different calibers as is.

I  bought one (a S&W) for my wife a few years ago when I was trying to fing something she liked. I thought recoil was not bad at all, a little snappy though. I shot .327 mags, 32 H&R mags and some .32 S&W longs out of it. I liked it alot, she didnt.

I have 5 Ruger revolvers in .327 Mag.  I am a handloader and bullet caster and for me its a dream caliber.  From 98 grains to 140, trust me when I tell you it's in a class by itself.  Shoots like a laser and puts .38 special to shame.

Donate it to a gunstore instead.  That's what I did, when nobody would buy it.

I have never been sold on the 327

I understand the additional round in many guns when compared to the 38 is a plus but for me the 38 is so far ahead of it in available ammo power levels and general availability of guns on the new and used markets and ammo and component availability .

I understand it fits the bill for many folks use and that is fine , I like 38spl

No need for me to have to stock a boutique round.

I could never get what the 327 offered over 38spl +P, other than some of the manufacturers adding one more shot to their cylinders.

Ruger still only had it in a 7shot for their double action revolvers, 8 shots in the Blackhawk.

I had an itch for a 7+ shot revolver and ignored the 327 and bought a S&W 627 "Bloodwork" snubby. Never looked back.

Shame on Ruger for never releasing an 8shot Redhawk 357... Plenty of meat on the bone for it, but, never wanted to do it and be seen as a S&W clone.

Think I could get a custom cylinder made to take 7.62x25 on moon clips?

Would that actually work?  Seems like there would be too great a difference in bullet diameter for the bore.

Bore diameter of ".32 caliber" guns is typically .311". 7.62x25 bullet diameter is nominally .308, but there are many examples of them running larger up to .311-.312. East Bloc QC being what it was.

Interesting........ 7.62x25 tok lists .310 as diameter.

I would love to see an LCR offered in .327mag.

Not likely going to happen though

My mind is still milling over the 7.62x25 idea.

I would love it.  Especially in the 3".  Hope they make snake shot too for it.  Great little woods gun for FL if so.

Got an email from Ruger today, they now have an LCR in .327 FM.  It did not list the barrel length.

Like others, can't find an excuse to buy a .327 Magnum.

I get everything needed from either 9mm semi or .38 Special +P/.357 Magnum.

Just don't see any niche the .327 Magnum can fill that other, more established cartridges already fill.

Somewhere, I started a thread commending Ruger for some truly great customer service, resulting in them sending me a 5.5" 327 mag Single-Seven, as a warranty replacement to an old clunker .22. I can hardly wait to get it! I call predators all winter and spend my Febs/Mars calling in javelinas. I've taken them with 22mag, 357 mag, 44 mag, and 50 cal black powder Kentucky pistols but always yearned for a single-six in 32 H&R mag but never saw one for sale. I'm glad I was forced to wait !  the 327 looks like just the ticket! It'll be nice to use when breaking up fights between the hounds and those tough old coons that we have here in Az, too.

What do you guys, who have been shooting this caliber for awhile, think about taking a "safe" and "reasonable" shot at a coues with it? 100gr jhp @ 1450fps adequate or would you feel like it'd be pushing the limits of the cartridge, too much?

I just knew I was going to get a 327 mag. I purchased the reloading dies a couple of years ago. Still haven't found the pistol I want-- I don't really know what I want!

Do you really need an excuse to buy a another gun?

I can tell you what you can not get from either of your 9mm or .38 special..........another gun!

Pretty sure most of us here do not buy out of necessity, but rather to feed a passion/hobby/addiction/affliction/OCPD.
