I have the 1911 Commander model and the two mags that came with it are real high quality.  A friend said that they are made by Chip McCormick but I don't think so.  I own about twenty 1911 mags from mixed manufacturers and the Rugers seem to be in a class of their own.  I ordered two more 7 rounders at $22.00 a piece, which I will order more when funds permit.  Does Ruger make their own mags or who do they farm them out to?

They look like Checkmates to me, but I honestly don't know.  I doubt very much Ruger makes their own.
