The thumb safety of my Ruger MKIII 22/45 Lite rotated clockwise and has made it impossible to take it fully out of the "Safe" position. The detent pin rotated down so it wouldn't stay in the Fire position. I rotated the safety with a pair of pliers so the detent was in the correct position and it worked fine about three times until it would spin back. Are these threaded in? I would send it back to Ruger but it's just as easy to buy a VQ replacement.

It's a pain the ass to install an aftermarket extended safety, mine did the same thing until  I forcibly bent the spring and plunger into the detent hole, after that it wasn't a problem anymore.

I just sent the thing in. Free shipping and I didn't feel like messing with it.

Ruger received it Monday 12/1 and I just received it back today 12/5. Very quick turn around.
