Im looking at a 2002 .45lc model, 5.5 barrel, blued that a friend is selling. rarely fired, but the gun needs some tlc. any thoughts on value or what i should look for before I "pull the trigger".

Make sure you like the way it fits your hand ... they aren't like the Colt SAA.

I got rid of mine because I just didn't like the way it felt.  (Stainless, .45 LC, 4.625" bbl)

I was thinking around $400. It feels pretty good, for my first single action revolver. now if i can just find some decent ammo.

I think you're in the ballpark for price as long as it's in decent condition.

I love mine. The top is .44 mag and the bottom is .45lc

I had them in .357, 44 and 45 colt. Solid revolvers. Given the choice between carrying a colt or a Vaquero I would take the Ruger.

The last one that I bought was $319. It had one small spot of rust on the back strap. The highest that I have paid for one is $425 out of the 6 that I own.

I bought one when Ruger first released them 5 1/2" Stainless, .45 Colt....great revolver, if you're going to shoot it a bunch..reloading is a much cheaper option.

Finding large frame Vaqueros around here is impossible. I bought a sweet tricked out 4.62" .45Colt blued model for my sister and I loved it so much I wanted one myself but haven't found one since.  I really want a 4.62" .45Colt blued or stainless but also a .44 magnum Bisley to go with my current single actions.

As far as the OP's question it all depends on condition.  Without knowing what kind of TLC it needs, it's impossible to give it a value.
