Anyone found their thumb safety to be out of spec?

Friend brought over his new SR 1911 for me to check out. I was initially impressed with the fit and finish until I did a function check and the thumb safety failed.

My SR1911 safety is as positive as they come. No movement in the hammer at all if I pull the trigger with the safety on.

My thumb safety is good. Very smooth and all function checks are good.

The magazine release on my gun had to be replaced.

Final fit and finish is hit and miss in my experience. Gun has good potential, but needs attention out of the box in my experience.

It was on my list for this year but after all the trouble I've had with my new Mark III I think I'll pass.

No problems here. This is the second one I have bought. The first i sold to a friend and i can say it is running fine after many thousands of rounds.
My trigger is a little gritty just before let off, but i can fix that, if shooting it won't do it for me.

I just bought a new Ruger SR1911 today, and my thumb safety is fine.

Mine is good to go. Had a trigger job done a couple months ago and the smith said the FCG was very well made and all in spec.

I just got one on Saturday, slide to frame fit is tight, no left to right play, thumb safety, mag release and grip safety all function without issue.
I only had a chance to put 50 rounds of Atlanta Arms reloads thru the pipe and was as accurate with it as I was with my Kimbers.
Nice pistol so far!

Safety on mine was fine. Had more frame/slide play than my other 1911's though (Kimber, S&W, SIG, RIA).

Same story with mine. Love that thing.

If it's a Colt, it's a copy of an original ArmaLite.

If your AR10 is marked Geneseo, IL, it's still an AR10 no matter what some people say.
