Today I was shooting and the slide stuck about half way back on my Kimber SIS. It (the slide) will now not go forward but about half way. Goes fine backward but just won`t go all the way forward. I was shooting a new Rowland .460 conversion kit anf put about 25 ball rounds through it and then switched to 255 grain hard cast rounds and got five off and the slide would`nt go forward. I may have broken something and I am NOT a gunsmith. The conversion kit was installed and test fired at and by the manufacturer. Ant ideas?

FYI,,,I found the problem. This .460 round is so violent that the recoil overcame the firing pin retention spring and the little plate slipped over and out of place. This was with a 20 lb spring. I installed a 24 lb. spring and now it runs like a top. The reason for all the drama is that we are going into bear country in Alaska and I wanted at least SOME chance to protect us. I do not like wheel guns and am far more confident with autos. A big brown can run 30 yds VERY quickly.
