My Custom covert was accurate but only would run ball. Feed ramp got all tore up trying to shoot Gold Dots, Rangers, XTPs.

My Custom II never failed to eat anything from my plated TC Rainier reloads to factory ball to defensive rounds and anything in between. I did start casting my own 200 gr. SWC's and after about 100 of those nasty filthy suckers, it did begin to jam. But I expected that. Man that gun was gunked up! |

For feeding issues, I'd also suggest trying wadcutter or hybrid feed lip magazines:
They will allow the round to come out of the magazine just a little earlier. I've been using the Check Mate Industries Hybrid magazines with great success feeding everything on my Kimber Pro Carry II. http://www.topgunsupply.com/checkmate-1911-mag-8-round.html Could be a cheap fix if they work. |

Picked up my new Kimber Custom II yesterday, ran 250 rounds through it flawless. Didn't even clean it or lube it up out of the box. I am pleased.

PS: I do have feed issue but it usually just the last round in my very first mag I shot of the day. After the first mag everything else is gold. I recommend the wilson combat 47D mag to fix the feeding issue. |

And, the extended mag release would drop using my main carry rig so I swapped it with a GI length. And, I replaced the cheap plastic MSH with a steel one. And, swapped the FLGR to an Officer's. And, I don't use Kimber stock mags: Wilson or TacPro for me. You get the idea: The 1911 may take some attention and know-how to run 100%, and changes may be needed to make it perfect for you, and with Kimbers sometimes more so on both fronts. And, let's not get into the Series II FPB hate. Why the hate? Easy: Love = Gun runs Hate = Gun does not You are the former. Others are the latter. Simple. |
