I have a very early Kimber Compact Custom and am trying to find a IWB holster for it, Anyone know which would fit better, a miltsparks IWB for a commander sized 1911 or a milt sparke IWB for an Officers Size 1911. Thanks in advance,,

I just bought a Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 from brownells. They have them in stock, so no 6 month wait. And the Commander size holster fits my Pro CDP 2 like a glove. If yours is a 4 inch barrel model, I would imagine the Commander holster is the way to go. It fits up to a 4 1/4 inch gun according to the site.

I run a Crossbreed STD, Bladetech Nano, Galco Stow-N-Go (for a Glock 17) and a Remora for my 4". All are excellent. The CBST gets the most use.

I have been satisfied with the Crossbreed. I did, however, have to make a modification to it. I wear it at 5 o'clock, so often when I'm sitting I'm putting pressure against the holster/side arm. There were a few times that, at the end of the day, I found I had managed to press the magazine release. Wouldn't be too cool to need to use the weapon, take a shot, and have the magizine fall out. You will see in the third pic that I drilled a hole where the mag release would rest. Now, with the holster in my hand and the gun inserted, it is difficult to press the button, whereas before it was relatively easy. The leather is thick enough that I'm not able to feel it against my skin.

Depending on the mag release of your weapon, I would imagine the same issue with any IWB.

If you have any questions or would like any additional pics, let me know!

Just bought a Galco Royal Guard IWB holster for my Nighthawk T3 and my Kimber Ultra CPD 2 fits perfectly only about 1inch short of holster and its extremely comfortable.
The commander size is 4.25 and the ultra is 3 inches so basicly use the same holster but you can order based on your barrel size i ordered for the colt commander 4.25 or 4 inch barrel.

I have two SuperTucks. One for my Pro-CDP II and another for a Ruger I also carry.

I'm very happy with both.

Crossbreed Supertuck. I had a Milt Sparks 4.25" that was long but worked fine.

Hey, ya Ronin, I am actually picking up a Desantis Mad Max Commander RH Black IWB that I picked up from a member here from FedEx Hub by my work at lunch, I am thinking it will be a smidge long but for the $45, who cares :) I'll report with pictures how it fairs but I too just picked up a Series I Compact Custom with some re finishing on the slide I did myself, kinda like a turnbull, but home made :)

EDIT: Dang well the FedEx delivery was some cash, not my holster, rechecked senders msg and it will be delivered 06-22-2012

I'll get a report and pictures of the holster later....Here's my Compact Custom though.

Ok, so huge mishap, I received the DeSantis Mad Max, however, it was for a 5" length 1911, not a 4-4.25". So , that was ok, as I have a bunch of 5"ers, but it left me still without a holster. I was browsing a local classifieds here in AZ and found an old May post for a Pure Kustoms NIW Light Brown Black Ops Pro Commander length, unused....and for $85 shipped, I could not be happier when I found out it was still available. Sent payment via paypal on Friday, had the holster in my mailbox Saturday this weekend that just passed. Here are a couple shots of my break in process as it was slightly tighter than I like, but that was ok, before and afters:

SUPER happy with this holster, probably not going to find another one at this price but hey, I didn't think I would either. Also love how the grips match the holster.
