The WANT is growing stronger, just haven't been able to pull the trigger on getting an HK. Fondled a used stainless model today at a LGS, now the want is stronger! LOVED the feel in my hand, trigger was better than I was expecting. Was a double/single not sure what variant you call that? Are the USP's really THAT durable, anybody ever have problems with theirs? The one thing I like about Glock is I can repair one in my sleep. Holding that HK made Glock feel like it came in a Cracker Jack box...  Any cons besides price, and holding 2 less rounds than a 19???

I want one, too. Thanks to Jack Bauer (24) and Danny Archer (Blood Diamond). I just traded a Glock 19 for a second VP9. That HK bug is insatiable...

Just saw one sell at auction for $475. And a tactical 45 for $475 too

I love my usp9c and had to hold back on bidding.

From a carry standpoint the USPc will be heavier and won't conceal quite as well as a G19/23.

My USPc 40 is noticeably heavier than my G23.  And the mags with the pinky rest will print more.

They are bomb proof, but as stated, larger than their competitors.

While non apples to apples my p30 is my favorite centerfire pistol.

I say go for it.

USP Compact is my favorite pistol, ever. I have one in 9mm and one in .40. You should do it!

Are the P30's much different internally?

Not really, basically the P2000, P30, and the other P variants are very similar to USP Compacts. The biggest difference is in the triggers, in DA/SA models the SA trigger pull is longer than the pull on the USP Compact. Besides that, they're just more ergonomic USP Compacts.

OP, is the .45C out of the question? While I haven't shot the 9mm compact yet, my .45 compact is more accurate than my Tactical model.

Makes a bigger hole too........

Yeah, a good suggestion too. My 45C is crazy accurate. It's my hiking gun. I just prefer 9mm for all other carry besides outdoorsy stuff.

Almost 10 years on my USP 9 with no cleaning whatsoever and only lube the decocker once a year to keep it from sticking.

Round count is well over 10K, no breakages and a couple of stoppages from some gummy like substance on wwb 100 count ammo.

After 20 years of carrying various brands, mostly Glocks and most recently G23, I finally think I've settled on a USPc .40.
Reliable, durable and accurate.
I'm looking for another. I need two for some reason.

I carry a USP9c daily and ended up trading a G19 towards it.  It's a great gun and truly is over engineered which makes it a bit heavier.  The slide is a little thicker, however the overall length is shorter than the Glock and the grip is the same with a flat magazine.  I have also had a number of other HK's and the size of the 9 compact is very similar to a p2000 which carries well.  The USP45c is quite a bit larger and you really start to notice the difference.  It's a great gun that I don't think you will be disappointed with.

Threads like these cost me money.
That 9c seems to be calling my name I'm not sure why it's never been on my radar

H&K USP Compact 9mm was my first handgun I ever bought. And just like meth, you can get hooked after your first time...

Boat loads of cash later...

I wholeheartedly recommend the USP9c. Some will say the capacity isn't as great as some pistols but I am in CA so once you hit 10 rounds it is mute.

You mentioned DA/SA and the variants...  I bought a v1 (DA/SA w/ safety)... because I have other go to pistols without the manual safety I tended to be iffy on making the USP9c a regular pistol or a nightstand gun. I finally got around to swapping it to a v3 (DA/SA de-cocker only).

If I had known it was so simple I would not have purchased several of my other pistols. Buy a 'detent plate' for $10 and swap it out while watching an episode of 24. It takes 3 minutes and is a piece of cake.

USP9c + $10 v3 detent plate will make the USP9c soar and be your go to pistol.

v3+4 Detent Plate
