What are you guys running for carry ammo in your VP9s? I shot a box of the Winchester SXT 127gr last night and I wasn't impressed. It seemed to be very erratic and not very accurate. Just to double check that it wasn't me (my first thought was operator error) I shot a box of WWB immediately afterwards and my groups tightened right back up.

Needless to say I'm a little disappointed in that ammo but I'm curious to hear what you guys are using for carry/self defense ammo,

124 gold dot is what we're issued. Extremely accurate, very effective on target.

I have to carry the 124gr +P or 147gr T-series by Winchester. I'm not allowed to carry any other ammo. My VP9 eats both up regularly and has no issues. It's really accurate.  When shooting with a suppressor I only use the 147gr.

I use Winchester 147gr Ranger-T and also have a few boxes of 147gr Speer Gold Dots (Not the G2 ones). My VP9 is not picky so I also some standard pressure 124gr Speer gold dots as well.

147 +P HST

Manual says no +P+ folks, so you break or have more wear than normal, do not blame HK for doing something it says it shouldn't, or cry about later saying derp VP9 sucks derp.

I've already posted this before in another thread.

Page 14 of your manual, where it states that the VP9 was designed to use all NATO and SAAMI spec ammo. SAAMI has specs for +P, SAAMI has no specs for +P+.

I've put a fair amount of 124 gr older federal HST and 124 gr +P gold dots with good accuracy and no issues cycling.

I'm going to try the Winchester Train and Defend 147 grain JHP in my VP9 because it is very pleasant to shoot and seems to perform well in ballistic gel tests. If it doesn't work that well, I may just switch back to Speer Gold Dot 124 +P.

The Sig defense ammo they make is very accurate out of the VP9, its 124gr V-Crown design they call it.

Dropped a groundhog at a laser verified 42yards with my VP9 and those Sig HP's, dot on head bullet through mouth out the bottom of its chest. Shot it laying prone resting my elbows on the ground.
I use it in my VP9 and my P30sk, also carry the Winchester 124gr +p depending on what I'm carrying gun for.

I've tested that ammo and even though I'd prefer a 147, it is good bullet for being a non bonded.
