I'm currently looking at the 1000 round cases of 9mm from IMI on the Widener's site since I love the IMI 5.56.

Should work just fine.

Good, thank you.

Is that the majority opinion?

Personally, I wouldn't try to fire any .380, .40 or .45 through my VP9.

Seriously though, I'm only shooting major brand factory ammo through mine until I decide whether or not I'm keeping it. If I keep it, I wouldn't worry about shooting my trusted reloads.

I bought 500 rnds of the cheapest. Dirtiest steel case I could find. And shot drills the day I got it....it eats everything.

I've only shot factory federal in my VP9. I would however shoot steel or aluminum case stuff if I could find it at a decent price. Around my parts stores only want a coulpe bucks more for 50/rds of brass cased stuff. If that's all I'm saving I'll just shoot the reloadable stuff

So far I have found any 9mm rounds that my VP9 won't fire. Any 115gr, 124gr, and 147gr rounds both FMJ and JHP.

Mine seems to like the heavier stuff.  124 or 147 especially.

I have shot 115gr Fiocchi and PMC rounds without issues.

All my testing, and the testing from others I've seen has indicated that the VP9 is more accurate with lighter match ammo. I decided to carry 124 gr.

I don't think you'll find a type of ammo  that it won't feed reliably. I've run about 20 kinds of ammo through mine including ultra light Liberty ammo, G2 RIP, both HST and Ranger in 147 grain, and just about everything in between. I have put more types of ammo (some kinds just 5-10 rounds) through it than I ha've missed. The only popular type of ammo I can't speak to is cheap Russian berdan primed no-metal ammo, but I'm sure others have taken care of that.

What I have ran and what runs best in my VP9!!!!  YMMV!!!!!!!!

Older Federal Champion 9mm 115 gr. FMJ 100 rd Value Pack brass cased. The gun is very accurate with this load. Possibly because of the lighter kick makes follow up shots easier. I say older because the newer stuff seems a little bit hotter, maybe a grain or 2 more powder vs older stuff. Newer stuff seems a little less accurate.

Winchester 9mm Nato 124 gr. FMJ HOT hard kicking. Like shooting +P 124r. Gold Dots. Somewhat accurate but the gun eats it all.

Tula Brass max. 100 rd. white tub stuff sold at wally world. DONT WASTE YOUR DAMN TIME!!!!!!!!!!  inconsistent (some rounds hot some light recoil) as all hell, lots of flash lots of cruddy residue not accurate at all. AND had 2 rounds that would not chamber. NASTY!!!!!

Speer 124 Gr. +P Gold Dot.

Winchester White Box 115 gr. FMJ 100 rd. Value Pack Sold at wally world. Good stuff actually somewhat hot. Almost reminds me of Winchester 9mm Nato. Accuracy is to be expected.

Federal Aluminum Cased 115 gr. FMJ 50 rd box sold at Wally World. Reminds me of the older federal champion in overall feel and kick. Somewhat mild. accuracy is ok but not as good as the Older Federal Champion. Best deal in 9mm right now thats not online at $9.99 in store plus tax roughly 21cents a round.

20 rounds of UMC 250 rd yellow box of 115 gr. FMJ  sold at wally world.  I'm not partial to Remington guns or ammo or anything rummy right now. It was EH. .

Yeah, I found the Tula Brassmax to be crap as well. I haven't tried it in the VP but it did manage to choke my 92FS, the case length seems to vary wildly. The Federal Aluminum ran fine so far along with WWB and my carry ammo, Winchester PDX1 124+P.

I ran S&B 115gr, PPU 115gr, CCI Brass 115gr, Hornady Ctrit Defense, (A few rounds) G2 RIP Rounds, Winchester 115gr, and then did 6 or 7 mags with a mix of all the ball I listed, chewed through everything like a machine.

I've shot WWB, Remington, Wolf & S&B through my VP9 without a single hiccup. It's chewed through everything so far.

Mine's eaten Hornady Flexlocks, Federal HST 147, Federal 115 JHP and FMJ; both brass and aluminum kind, Winchester PDX 147 and FMJ 115 & 124, Speer Gold Dots 147, Remington JHP and FMJ 115, Magtech JHP, Lake City NATO ball 124, and it has yet to not go bang...but I had just loaded up a thousand reloads so we shall see about the not going bang thing

Same issues with the Brassmax. No problems with anything else.

Thanks guys.

I received a 1000 round case of the IMI 124gr yesterday from Wideners, if it gives me any problems I will let you know.

I have a feeling it won't though.
