Purchased from Buds around the fourth, rebate card filled out and shipped the 12th. Received my card back with a sticker saying it didn't qualify.

I thought all USP models qualified.

USP Compacts are listed, but the small print on the bottom of the rebate form reads "Offer valid on new firearms from the 2014 pricelist". What's the mfg date on the Compact and what's the SKU from the box.
Could it be an older Compact / legacy SKU that Bud's have been sitting on for a few years?

Hopefully this is some kind of mistake, I already put money down on a USP compact just because of the rebate

That is a bunch of fucking bullshit.  If the store from which you  bought it even so much as mentioned the HK rebate, take it back to them and have them call their distributor.

How fucking stupid can HKUSA be?
<owns a bunch of HKs

Have you tried calling them (HKUSA)?

The only thing I can think of is it has to be bought from an authorized retailer... maybe Bud's isn't? I don't know... call and ask.

People over on HKPro.com had the same question......some have reported back that they contacted HK CS, and were told that "licensed dealer," as stated on the rebate form means a licensed, FFL-holding dealer, not any sort of HK "preferred" or "authorized" dealer

I dont think the rebate goes by the date code on the gun. If it does, that would be news to me. The rebate states the model must be on the 2014 price list, which is here: http://www.hkpro.com/forum/attachments/hk-handgun-talk/26218d1415404544-hk-2014-commercial-price-list-2014-msrp-commercial-price-list_effec-jan-1-2014-1.pdf

So, for instance, if you were to buy a new HK USP .45 Expert, even though it is a USP, it would not qualify as it is not on the 2014 price list. OP, whats the exact SKU of your gun?

Wow.  That sucks.

This is why I always read the fine print, in everything.  Really pisses off my bankers, credit card companies, etc, but rarely results in me being screwed out of something like a rebate due to fine print.

OP, see if you can take it up with BGS, especially if it was advertised as qualifying for the rebate.

Well, that SKU is on the 2014 price list. Did you call HK Customer Service and ask WTF? I'd be interested in hearing what they say.

I agree. Call and ask for clarification, it's possible it was rejected for some other reason or maybe it was a mistake.

Relax, I'm a HK fan and on OP's side. Just poking fun at this ridiculous situation.

I'm thinking I fucked up when I put down my local FFL's store name and location and not Bud's. I tried to call my local guy but he's a Sheriffs Deputy and works odd hours.

I called HK but no one was available. I'm going to wait till Monday to get a hold of them, after the holiday rush.

I've had nothing but good experiences with HK. Last year I sent in my KD date code USP 9 for a trigger return spring and they replaced a bunch of shit to bring it up to date.
10,000+ rnd count KD date code.

This. You didn't buy it from your dealer, you bought it from Bud's. You should be able to resubmit and I'm sure you'll get your rebate.

I sure hope it was simply an oversight as I am really looking to pick up something at the gun show this weekend.

Thanks for the PDF as I am printing it out to avoid buying an older model.
Do you match the UPC Code or the ID Number?
Do you have to pay the price listed on the sheet? What if you score a good price?

So what do you do if the item is not on the list do you tell the dealer to find you and newer model?

Hope all goes well.  The receipt that you have from Buds should have cleared everything up.  When you talk to them you should see if a scanned copy and email will suffice since you had it mailed to them once already.

Per the rebate form, they do accept submissions via email.

Sorry, no real update. Explained the situation to HK customer support lady and she said I should be GTG and wait four-six weeks.

Go Buckeyes, btw.
