So you were 16 when you joined this forum? Thats pretty neat because I am 16 right now. I only have one USP though, my parents got it for me . When I am 21 I'll be able to buy myself my own pistols. Marksman, do you have your parents buy your pistols for you now or what since your not yet 21? Thats a huge collection to have if your not even of legal age to buy a pistol yet!!!!

Yep, I was 16 when I found this place.  Always was interested in guns, and my dad had just purchased a Beretta 92 and a ruger 10/22.  From there on...well...you saw the pictures.  My dad bought a few firearms here and there, and I bought a bunch.  Now I am personally up to 17 firearms, and my dad has 5 or so.  Good news is, all the cool ones are mine

My dad is a gun guy, so I write him a check, and he buys the handguns for me.  Then, we write up a transfer, and they are "officially" mine.

Thanks for the kind words.

I think the SL-8 was 1200 used.  The USP 40 was a little over 700.  I know I probably paid too much for the SL-8, but the prices around here kept going up as their availability kept going down.

I dunno bout the real UMP, but I can tell you this.  the recoil is silly nonexistant.  I bought the storm and UMP together (a diffferent UMP, yeah I had two!) about 6 months ago.  The Storm is ALL BOLT with a weak spring, so even in 9mm when you fire that f-ing bolt smacks all that recoil into your shoulder PITA! the UMP is mostly spring with a MUCH better thought out smaller bolt.  Funny that even in 45, the recoil is gone.  You could shoot it all day with one hand, stock folded.

And OF COURSE go with the UMP - that QD barrel suppresor combo is WICKED!  Ed over at HDPS.org (where I get all mine - the new ones, that is) sells UMP SBR's.  99% the same as a real UMP - same mags, barrel etc... just a USC receiver.

I've been thinking about sending mine in to ge tthe UMP lower so I get the BHO functionality, but hot DAYUM UMP mags are expensive!

On a side note, does anyone have a USP 40 Compact in Desert Tan?
