THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Alright, I know they haven't been discontinued, as I asked about that particular gun shop rumor a few months ago. But none of my local gun shops have any in stock, and all their distributors are out of them as well, and have no idea when will be getting any, and it's been this way for quite a few months now.

Was at a gun shop today that had several. Don't know specifics as I wasn't interested in getting one. If interested, the shop is Mike's Gun Shop and the phone number of the shop is 423-626-4323.

In my area shops don't carry much HK in general. I think it is too pricey for the shelf space. Check out gunbroker.com.

I was at my local "toy store", er gun shop, last week and noticed they did not have any Colts and only HK's. When I asked them about it they said they had several manufacturers that were running behind and they couldn't promise them any dates on delivery of new product. The only HK's on the shelf were two P30's, one P30L and one P30-both in 9mm. I am hoping someone buys them off the shelf because the more I go by to look at them and hold them, the more I am tempted to buy one!

Though they seem to be scarcer than other HK's, one of my LGS has two in the case.

I have bought from him also. Great transaction.

I was actually just reading that post. Saw where you two were discussing the Shield. Great backup gun or when a fullsize doesn't fit the occasion.

My main gunshop( stocking hk dealer, think mr556, mr762, mk23, etc, entire line dealer) says the HK rep they use said HK undershot the demand on their guns this year by about 30%. Could be true.

I live in a ban state [California] which is why I was asking about EM's particular magazines' capacity. Sorry for the confusion.

With the insane amount of popularity with the newer HK45 and 45C being sold out everywhere and tens of thousands of new HK owners realizing what all the fuss is about HK is seeing a major resurgence in older catalog firearms. Thus USP's are being sold at a higher rate than they have in the past ten plus years.

After the Bush #1 import ban, it always seemed like HK was wary of a civilian customer base and concentrated on the LE and military stuff. You could say gun shy.
Below is s few years old:

Sterling, Virginia — Heckler & Koch Defense Inc. has been awarded a multi-year contract, with a potential value up to $26.2 million by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It is intended to service all organizational elements/agencies under DHS. This contract ranks as the single largest handgun procurement ever by a U.S. law enforcement agency with a maximum quantity of 65,000 pistols. The models selected after an exhaustive and punishing battery of testing were the USP Compact LEM, the P2000 and the P2000SK subcompact. Each of the three models was chosen in calibers 9x19mm, .40 S&W, and .357 SIG, and employ HK’s innovative LEM trigger system

I was considering a SS slide USPc 40 locally for $625 but ended up buying a P2000 .40 for $550 instead. I prefer the P2000 anyways but do like the look of the SS slide models. I don't see many used H&Ks for sale around here.
