THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Then I bought a M&P 45 which eats any ammo I feed it but the trigger is horrible and I am not impressed with its accuracy. Grip was way better than the FN but it needs a trigger job. Just got home from shooting my new HK45 and I am now ready to sell the M&P 45. Wow! I am impressed after just one trip to the range! I am still getting used to the double action, but I am dead on shooting it single action. In single action, I shoot it as well as my TRP which I never thought I could do with any polymer 45. I think it also might shoot softer than my TRP, which is incredible given the weight difference between the two guns. Now I just need to find some more mags for it and a holster. I like it so much that I am going to have to find a HK45c to shoot to see if I like it as well. Which won't be easy to do in CA with it being an off roster handgun. Just thought I'd share my enthusiasm for the HK45! |

I feel the same way about mine. Good luck finding magazines for it. I just bought 3 off the EE, but had been watching HKparts.net. They get them in sometimes.
I'm thinking about getting the threaded barrel and a can for mine. |

Consider changing your trigger to the LEM variant. I have the LEM on a USP40C, and have the LEM kit for my HK45. Probably changing it today.

Same with me. My HK45 shoots as good as any of my 1911's. 1911 shooters at the range just get pissed or impressed by it. I sent mine to Bill Springer for the accuracy upgrade and it's even better now. Just bought an HK45c and it's a great shooter. Goes everywhere I go in my crossbreed holster.

Just thought I'd share my enthusiasm for the HK45! Congrats on your HK! By the way what is an "off roster" handgun? CA has an approved handgun roster. They require certain safety features on a gun and the manufacturer to pay an extortion fee to get a handgun on the roster. You can do a Single Shot Exemption or SSE (convert it to a single shot by blocking the mag and using a special barrel) through a FFL that is ok with doing it, not all FFL's are willing to do so. After leaving the FFL with the gun is single shot mode, you go back and the FFL converts it back to the stock gun. Or a parent out of state can gift you a gun that isn't on the roster. I hope to get another transfer out of CA as soon as possible! Until then, I have to use the work around method. |

That's another worthless gun law! Here in Mich we have our own issues but with the current legislatior we seem to be heading in a better direction. You need to adapt some out of state parents.

The HK45 platform is one of the best 45acp's ever made.
I love mine. It is a tack driver. It is also the Best polymer pistol you can have in CA period. If I was stuck there for some reason that is the gun I would have with me......well it is also the gun I have with me all the time anyway. |
