THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I love my P30, but when I started shooting it a lot I noticed the 'trigger trench' (originally designed so when wearing gloves, your trigger finger would not get caught and prevent you from pulling the trigger) was rubbing blisters on my trigger finger that made it less fun to shoot a lot.

I sent it to Bowie Tactical and had the trench removed, then when it returned I lowered and polished the mag release so I would not feel anything except smooth plastic. I did this once before on my Walther P99 with great results. If anyone has the trigger/blister issue with the P30, I would highly recommend doing this procedures. Basically a dremel tool job, then polishing. Now it is comfy to shoot for long periods, no blisters or discomfort.

Here are some pics of the completed work.

If you don't mind me asking, "How much did that set you back?"
Looks good!

Good news: He charges $45 for the trench removal (I did the mag release myself).

Bad news: Turn-around is about 4 months.

Great pics and info.
It looks like something people can do at home slow going with a dremel tool.

It looks like you went with small/small for the sides and backstrap.
I tried that first, then large/small and occasionally rubbed, but when swapped for large sides and medium backstrap, it went away.
Group sizes went down too, despite the large/small still feeling the best in my hand.

A friend with a P30L has the rub problem no matter what, I'll point him to this thread.

Looks good. I still have never experienced the rub myself on my P30 or HK45. I realize it happens to a lot of people but I've never had it

Ditto, but it's nice to see some good, smooth work on an HK. It makes me want to have a grand piano fall on my godamn head every time I see an HK with godawful stippling or botched trigger guard work.

Thanks for the kind words....9 times out of 10 I like leaving a gun stock, because I have screwed up stuff before trying to 'fix it'. In this case, I loved the way the gun felt in my hands (you are correct, I use the small/small - I have small hands and like the way that feels) but the trigger was rubbing my finger badly so much I didn't want to shoot it anymore.

I had the same thing happen with a Walther P99 of mine, and was alb to fix it with the ole' dremel treatment..

Hk rules indeed....

BTW...I tried to like the LEM trigger, but I really like the carry options o the V3 that I have here.

The "trench" is the main reason my HK 45 has become a safe queen.

I am going to have to work on my trigger guard I guess. Glad that I built all those model aircraft back in the day, skills that will not go to waste.

Thanks for the photos, that will help with the planning of my trenchectomy.
