The gun came today, but for the second time it appears I was hoodwinked by CDNN. Very good to excellent is what I ordered. The gun is "good" condition at best. The places where the plastic has coloring (safety, etc) are about completely gone and the plastic is a little beat up here and there. I'll go shoot it tomorrow.

I cleaned the grime out of the places that have color. The white in the safety lever is mostly gone, but show nice in the other spots. The red looks good. I guess I will use a crayon for the S in the safety.

I only buy guns where I can see the pics of the actual firearm being purchased. But If it makes you feel any better, the only guns I buy used are HK's. They are built like tanks.

For the price that HK's go for used, if I can't see the actual gun first I won't buy.

The USP45 is probably my favorite pistol ever made.
Mine is a KF date code and has been around the block a bunch by the previous user. I carry it and when I get home I put a light on it and it is my bedside gun. I can cut a 2x4 in half at 25yds with it. Mags are too expensive but you can say that about all HKs. Just something that is a part of it. YMMV but i have gotten faultless service and fun from all my HKs. |

I read else where that they were pretty good condition. Hope mines better or I'm less picky than you. Hope to find out later this week.
edit: Oh I didn't enjoy paying $50 each for new mags x 3. Where did the cheap used $20 mags go? Oh well. |

I don't know –– it's just no drama. I love this gun! One thing though, I've found that mine really doesn't like Tulammo, I had several failures to feed as the cases would bind up/not slide smoothly into the chamber, fixable by banging on the slide. This was completely an ammo issue - it started happening after firing 100 rds of Federal and about 150 rds into the Tulammo, so maybe the polymer coating crap on the Tulammo was already all over the chamber. |

Don't feel bad about the condition of the pistol. A nice, broken in USP 45 is a really good thing to have.

The full size 45 Tactical is the best 45 I ever owned. Period.

That is a great looking HK. It will last you a long time. I prefer the USP to the HK45 line.
I have both and the feel of the USP just works better for me. At the very beginning of the thread the cost of magazines just set me off. I probably shouldn't even say this but........ If the price of magazines is a real factor in your weapon selection you might just stay with the very inexpensive Hi-Point,s If you want the best quality and more importantly reliability you get what you pay for. |

I tried loading Hornady Critical Defense 185 grains. They are sticking somewhat in the chamber. If I take the barrel out, a round dropped into the chamber will not spin freely. In fact, they won't seat all the way in the chamber either.

It is kind of a well known thing, but they should start annotating it in their manuals. Everything else should be G2G. |

It's ok. I have a dillion square deal b and plenty of ammo. I am getting my reloading stuff together for this caliber. In the meantime, I shot the gun today and it is very accurate. No failures of any kind, accept for the Blazer ammo that didn't fire the first time. Pulled the trigger again and it went boom. I am very happy with this gun, and I carry it every day. |

I picked up a .45 USP today.
I've not shot it yet. Glad to finally have a .45 though. |

I'm pretty happy with it. I plan to get a USPc 45 or an HK45c. I can't decide. I've held both and the HK45c is probably the one I will go with. Unless I find a gently used USPc for a good price. I can't wait to shoot it again. All I need now is the caliber conversion for my Dillon SDB and some bullets/power. I picked up 400 rounds of WWB the other day for 36.79/box. That's not a bad deal. I can reload that brass and it is all large primer.

Mines was very good but I wouldn't call it excellent like they do. You can tell it was worn on the right side. Date code was late 90s. Surprise was the still glowing mepro night sights. Dim but still usable. Need to get some free time to shoot it. |
