Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Can you still get your Colt lettered?

I received a 38 Colt Lightning and a 1904(?) Colt DA 41 Long Colt Revolver from my father's estate.
I remember reading years ago that you could have your Colt guns researched and "lettered" as to where they were shipped etc.
Both guns are inoperable, the 41 has a blown forcing cone and the Lightning is a sewer pipe barrel.
