Fiber optic front sight is a nice touch, but what did they do the cylinder release latch?
Kinda looks a bastard stepchild of a S&W and Colt, is it still a pull back to the rear? |
|
No thanks, when they bring back the .357 6" Python and 6" Diamondback in .22 I will be aroused.

I have no Colts but this thing has my attention. What all calibers???
|
|
the bore looks way bigger than the cylinder holes
Something fuckey |

I might buy one of those.
I have been wanting a concealed carry .38spl revolver (only/no .357Mag), all steel construction and SIX shots. NO one makes one of those as near as I can tell. The closest thing would be the S&W Lady Smith. My local dealer would prolly knock maybe $25 off the retail (hey, it's a Colt). |

Waiting on the 357 line Already have a 38 S&W 442-1 AirWeight with Crimson trace grips that I payed 300 bucks out the door just recently
|
|
Why because its only sightly larger then a J frame and offers six shots. The Kimber K6 is $200 more for about the same hammerless specs. I used to have couple D frames Detective Special/Agents and enjoyed them.

I walked all over the Dallas market hall gun show looking for one of these. Soon. Soon I will find one.

I think almost every Colt enthusiast will shit themselves if they reintroduce a Python line... I though about that when I first heard of the new Cobra, but I didn't want to push the envelope and harass Brent for a new Python line. Nonetheless, I am really glad that Colt is once again making wheel guns. I'll be taking one the first chance I get.
|
|
I would be a lot more interested if it had a 3" barrel. Maybe they will offer other variations later?

View Quote Today marks the end of week #9. Last night I read the Cobra review by Wiley Clapp in my new issue of "American Rifleman". Colt has run full page ads for three straight months. But still a black hole as far as any release date information. What a f**king joke. |
|
If you look at Colt's facebook page, there's a picture posted a few days ago showing new Cobras being assembled on the factory floor in Hartford.
They'll be in stores soon. |

On the fb page someone asked when the guns will ship and they got a response!
"Colt - They are shipping now." Hopefully, mine will arrive soon. |

I asked Colt about speed loaders.
They said the new Cobra will take the same HKS Speedloaders as the earlier Cobra/Detective Special models. I went ahead and ordered two from Midway. They are on sale for $7.99 ea. |

I have a feeling this will be the case for a while. It's the PT Cruiser syndrome. Having said that, if it proves to be a reliable gun. I would like one. I'm a bit skeptical though. My first carry gun was a Detective Special and it's out of time. And I don't know for sure but it does seem like the Colt revolvers had a rep for going out of time easier than a Smith.
But yeah, that extra round in a package not much bigger than a J frame is hard not to like. |

Colt distributors have received their first shipments of the new Colt Cobra revolvers.

I hope you're right. I noticed that in this month's "American Rifleman", Colt is not running the ad for the Cobra that they have run for the previous three months. I am hoping that that isn't a bad sign. View Quote |

I am right, I am a sales rep at one of the larger Colt distributors. We have been selling and shipping Cobras. View Quote Hopefully I'll have mine in my hot little hands soon! |

Cylinder release still goes the wrong way. Will get you killed on the streets three times!!!

I am waiting notice from KYgunco.
I'm not paying the rape prices that some are asking. |

I was telling myself I didn't need one of these as I've got a Magnum Carry, then I saw what the Magnum Carry is selling for...... I think I'm going to have to retire the Magnum Carry and pick one of these up.

I got mine for below MSRP from an online deer. With free shipping.
