This is the first batch of the blued version to ship. Around 200 of the parkerized version have already shipped. MSRP is $1495.

Can you tell us who is selling these?

The slide looks roll marked, the frame (US Property)looks engraved

IIRC, Colt is contracting someone to make them.

RatWorx, a site sponsor, should be able of get you one. Ask for the ARFCOM discount.

I cannot imagine how much it would cost if it was polished like the vintage guns were.

That's a very coarse job compared to my 1926 made example.

I can't believe the blued version costs the same as the parkerized version. I would have thought the blued ones would cost more.

Bluing and polishing looks like crap, especially for a $1,500 pistol.

Yeah, I was thinking it'd be a $750 pistol when I asked the price.

WTF, you can get a really nice original for half that.

That's what I was thinking. I paid $600 for mine just a few years ago.

Way back last year I postulated they had a winner if they could keep it under $800.

New for $800 competes OK with the used market which was hovering around $600 for well loved and just under a grand for pristine.

But $1,500 for new and just under a grand for a pristine vintage example today?  Especially when the finish on even $700 guns looks better?

Oops.

Oh I'd buy an older one too.

They lost me with that price.

I'll be in my bunk anyway.

They do have a winner.  The new 1903's are selling faster than they can be made, there is a huge backorder on them.

Wow!  I know of an almost mint 1903, beautifully polished, blued, just a perfect gun in a local shop.  Asking $950 for it.

I'd snap it up, look at this one I bought with my C&R almost eight years ago for close to nine hundred, if I recall.

On the earlier models the finish angle of the highball cut isn't suppose to line up with the bottom of lower frame.

I doubt any dealer has any blued 1903's in stock.  So far only 20 have shipped.  Rat Worx will have some out of the next batch.

I see my cue to post my pistol / Sun Tzu photo and comment that they sure don't blue 'em like they used to.

It's not Sun Tzu, and mine's not pristine...  But it's still holding a smoother polish than the new one.

Me too.  Agree on the bluing!  Didn't cost as much as the new ones either.

I fondled one at the SHOT show, looked and felt nice. Price is a turn off, especially when there are a lot of originals for sale far cheaper. Last time I looked the very nicest were running around 800.00 while the roughest were around 350.00. Neat little gun.

I just got one for around $450, not the nicest but no gouges, normal finish wear for the age. Satisfied the 1903 itch that I had to scratch. I've seen the parked in the wild and was not impressed, especially when you can get
a nice royal blue series 70 1911 for way less.

I don't think the bluing is all that bad.
