So confused .....
Was gonna just pick up on the most recent thread however wanted to start a new one.

So on Colt's site they list these 2 models:

O1070CQB and M1070CQBP

They list the O1070CQB as :

Colt CQBP - Close Quarters Battle Pistol and "The Colt Custom Shop performs hand fitting of critical mating parts and each firearm is test fired by the Custom Shop and supplied with the actual test target"

Model O1070CQB

There is minimal information on the M1070CQBP as it is listed in the military section of their site.

Model M1070CQBP M45A1

My understanding is that there are only 2 versions of this pistol and one - being the M1070CQBP M45A1 - is not available to the public ?

So what is Model O1070M45 ?? Blue box , no target , no cleaning kit.

Is this not a custom shop gun ? and is in fact the military version ?

Are the serial numbers different - do they all end in EGA (looks as thought they do) ?

There is just way too much contradictory information on these and hopefully someone has a little more insight.

Ok so just made a couple of calls and turns out right back to what has been said previously in other threads.

There are only 2 models of this pistol:

O1070M45

- milspec so to speak

O1070CQB

- custom shop fitted parts

The thing to check is the number on the box !

The frame numbers will not tell you the difference as they are the same - less serial # - on both versions.

Either way I think I need one

Yes you do.

Spend the extra for the custom shop. Be prepared to wait. It's worth the waiting.

The ones the marines will be receiving is the O1070M45 in the blue card board box.  One of the stipulations in the government RFP is that the gun be commercially available and able to use drop in parts for field serviceability without hand-fitting.

The M1070CQBP is the one that is hand fitted at the colt custom shop and comes in the pelican case with the otis kit.

So which one is better and which is more widely available?

The O1070cqbp has the custom shop fitting and will theoretically a little bit more accurate plus you get a pelican case and 2 extra mags instead of one extra mag and the Otis cleaning kit. It should still be able to take drop in parts without armorer fitting.  its msrp is about $500-$600 more than the milspec since you get the exta goodies and custom shop fitting.
