After waiting 2 years, I finally found my Colt Special Combat Government Carry Model. I see them on GB but they are overpriced.  My LGS received a call from his distributor that this gun came in and I snagged it. I have not shot it yet. Originally I wanted to carry this gun, but I think this will be a range only gun. I have 3 other 1911's that I carry frequently.

I'm trying to find the history of the CSG's but I have not come up with anything. Does anyone know when Colt started building them?

Here are some pics!

Thank you, all! I believe Colt just got done making a batch of this O1970CY model. There has been about 7 at a time on GB.  I'm happy I didn't have to go the GB route for this one.

I'll have to get a picture of the rest of the 1911's.

They started making the Special Combat models in the early 90's. There have been some changes since then of course. I have a carry model that was made in 94.

How do the Special Combat models stack up to a Wilson Combat or a Les Baer?

I'm embarrased to say but I've had it for 5 years and I haven't shot it yet. I have 8 other 1911's. Been really thinking about shooting it lately though.
