Damn!  just spent an hour trying to find original Colt mags for this little beauty.

Apparently rare as hen's teeth.

I only found one available online for $175!!!  I knew I'd be looking for a relatively high cost item but that seems a little over the top.

I MIGHT be willing to go $100 a piece.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to go after market, unless someone can direct me to someplace that might have some for a better price.

Triple K mags are great, I have 3 for my 1903 .32. my dad has a couple for his 1908 that work perfectly as well

Thanks.  I am looking into those.  It seems that there are only a few outfits making them and Triple K is the only one I've found so far that may be "ok" but I've read mixed reviews on them.

I've come across one aftermarket that's available for about $15 which is a complete piece of crap.  Someone actually gave me one that literally fell apart in my hand.  Base plate just tacked on.

Marstar of Canada http://www.marstar.ca/dynamic/category.jsp?catid=77848 I purchased 3 of these magazines and each has worked fine.  $33 each seemed like a good deal.  A bit ironic though buying handgun parts from Canada.

I will look into those.  I did track down a Triple K mag.  Absolutely does not work.  Weak spring, terrible follower.  Every other round is a stovepipe.  Most disappointing.

Quick update.....

Replaced the recoil spring.  Replaced the Triple K mag springs with new Wolff springs.  All seem to be working fine now.

So the Marstar magazine for the 1903 works in a hammerless 1908 .380?  Good to know.  I need a couple.

I do not remember reading that the Marstar mag for 1903 works in a 1908.  You may want to check that.

I ran across a few mentions long ago that the 1903 to 1908 conversion is literally putting a 1908 barrel in a 1903, and a LOT of mentions that the 1908's were made from 1903 frames and slides, but had a ton of handcrafting go into them to make them work.

It seems like there may be full and partial interchangeability between the two, and different generations of the guns.

The general trend seems to be "try it and see".
I really wish Colt would come out with a new, drop safe, 1908.

Boy, so do I!

Did you happen to see the "new" 1908 that Cylinder & Slide built.

Looks amazing.

It was!  I guess they are producing them now for people. Price is steep but I'd rather have one of those, than a Wilson or Baer!

The "1908" that C&S makes is just a 1911 that they've modified. I have the article in an old gun mag and although it's neat, it's quite pricey. If only Colt or another company could produce them straight from the factory like that and make it cheaper to purchase.

I'd buy one on the spot if it were newly manufactured.

Now that I have a .380, I'll probably have to pick up a .32
