"A very reliable source has informed SSD that MARSOC is purchasing an initial order of 4000 Colt 1911A1 Rail Guns to outfit their troops. These will be the standard model in Desert Tan. More details as we receive them."

Of course its all of a sentence in length with no other verifiable info but interesting none the less.
Plays well with self, and cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

They've been running 1911's for a while. That's what a friend carried who was KIA 2 years ago.

All I ever carried was an M9. I wish I had my rail gun back then. Took Colt way longer than it should have to bring a railed 1911 to market. It is a great pistol though. I'm glad to see they have been adopted.

Pretty big contract just for spec ops. I think the marines are wanting to replace the M9 all together Marines place $22.5M Dollar Order for Colt M1911 .45

I don't believe that's gonna happen till the DOD signs off on it for all 5 branches. They've been testing various 45's to replace the M9, but to my knowledge no contract has been awarded. Even at 22.5 mil, that's not enough guns to replace all of the USMC 9's.
