Top is the Wiley Clap, middle is the CCO, and bottom is a Night Defender. I replaced the grips on all of them. Sambar stag on the top and bottom, Ahrends rosewood on the CCO. |

Who made the Stag grips and did the set on the Wiley Clapp come with the Colt logo? I usually like a little bark on my Stag grips, but yours look nice. I have a set made by Grashorn's Gunworks that I really like and he is a good guy to deal with. I almost bought a Wiley Commander but I could not get past the FCS. Other than that, they are very well done.

Both sets of stags were done by Spresser knife works. They put the Colt medallion in. The stars in the Defender grips are made of buffalo horn. I've got several pairs of Spresser stag grips and I like all of them.
I shot the CCO yesterday and also carried it all day. Boy, I think I've gotta new favorite carry piece! That's saying a lot as I've got a dozen Colt 1911's! |

My boss bought a CCO recently and when I looked at it, I was very impressed at the build quality. They are fairly light as well compared even to a Commander size so a CCO would make an excellent carry piece. What mags are you using?

Well, I'm partial to Wilson 47's and Checkmate mags. Both run great. I'm carrying a Wilson 47O mag in the CCO and have a 47D as a backup. Both loaded with Winchester Ranger-T 230gr +P ammo.

Congrats! Have one inbound, finally. I've been looking for a while after selling my Springfield Compact LW. The SA was a great gun but I wanted a Colt. I think the CCO configuration is the best 1911 for CCW.
