Doesn't look like a 1911 to me. Mine has now cuts in the frame where the trigger is. My trigger is longer. My hammer has a wide "spure" on it to make it easier to cock. My safety has a smaller projectiion sticking out for you thumb to push on when moving it. Can't see if the sights are the tiny 1991 sights or the bigger 1911A1 type. It should have a flat/smooth main spring housing. Mine's GI so it also has the lanyard loop on it. I don't know if the commercial 1911's had them or not.

Your's doesn't look "1911" to me. It has the 1911A1 style frame, trigger, safety, hammer. Can't tell about the grip safety either. The 1911's had a little short tail sticking out and some folks got bit by the hammer pinching the web of their hand between the hammer and the grip safety so the 1911a1's got a longer "tail" on the grip safety to keep you skin out of the way of the hammer spur.

Your serial number looks more like 314445C to me. This would be a 1967 1911A1 Government model. Depending on the actual finish and barrel condition, and if the pistol has all of it's original parts, it could be worth anywhere from $800-$1100. If you have the original box, you could add about $100 to that estimate. A NIB/unfired example of the same pistol could bring $1400-$1600.

eta: Judging only from your pics, the pistol looks to me to be in very good to excellent condition. The purplish tint to the bluing on the slide is typical/normal of those 60's era Gov't Models. Oh yeah, those brown plastic grips are extremely prone to shrinkage so don't take them off of the pistol for very long or you might not be able to get them back on.

Finish, grips and the relieved frame are a give away that it's a 1911-A1. Nice pistol though.

Good to know and I re-checked it its a 3 not a C, and the barrel is in perfect condition, it was my friends grandfathers 1911A1. I would put it at a 96-98% condition.

Very nice Pre70 Government Model. Prices in this condition seem to hover in the $1200-$1800 range although these are asking prices not purchase prices. I would jump on one under $1100 if it was in excellent condition.

Dont take the grips off. Some from this era are prone to shrinkage. These look to be from the gaps around the screw holes. Remove them and you may not get them back on without damage.

I seen a suggestion recently about shrinking grips. Try a humidor. You know like cigar smokers have. That should help revitalize your grips
