THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Anyone have one for this specific purpose?
I've never used my armorer's discount, and thought this might be a good excuse to get a Rail Gun.

Night sights would be a welcome upgrade to the rail gun, the ambi safety isn't that great, but it does chamber various loads well without fail.

It's what I bought mine for and it works great for that role. I use a McCormick 10 rd mag in it for extra capacity and the TLR1 for light. I agree about the need for night sights but they would instantly become black pistol sights once the light is activated. A laser might be a better choice than night sights.

I've been using the Rail Gun with a TRL-1 attached as my HD gun since I bought it last year.

I really had an eye opener in my police academy training reguarding lights, pistol mounted and hand held. There is a time and place for a pistol mounted light, but it isn't sweaping and clearing. A hand held works a ton better. Skip the laser idea, that is more or less a training aid and has very limited uses in the LE or HD.

Night sights are important. On my Rail Gun I plan on going with Heine sights. Whoevers lamps come on police issued Glocks, they are bight as hell. That company would be a good choice. Might be Trijicon, but I'm not sure.

Good deal. I recently seen an all black one, for the first time in person, while on the range. I must admit I liked it. I guess eventually I'll buy myself one also in black to go with the all SS.

I have the black Cerakote rail gun, and so far, it's my all-time favorite 1911. Once it's fully broken in, I will probably put it to use as my go-to HD gun.

Got mine yesterday
Very accurate, was just doing some quick target acquisitions at 7 and 10 yards, with a few
One hand-unsupported drills.

I have one yet to go to the range. I hate to "spoil" it and take it out of the house. I also have a New Agent I got as my 70th b'day gift to myself. I promised that when I went to the range with the New Agent I'd bring the Rail gun as company. Put a CT laser on the New Agent Saturday so they both will be driven to the range this week and both fired.
Love the look and feel of the rail gun. Hope this old body with it's old eyes can do it justice.

Got the chip mccormicks mags from eBay (good deal) and it came with it.
I have since added other magazines and changed the baseplates to black.

Shot those Colts yet? If so, how did you like the Rail Gun?

Every time I shoot mine, I love it a little bit more.

Thats the primary use for mine.

Black version. It went to see Ed Vandenberg in Houston soon after I received it. De-MIMed, night sights fitted, ambi-safety removed, function checked.

It wears a SF X400 and lives in the drawer safe when not being carried now.

It is my third, and favorite Colt. The other's being a Special Combat and a Combat Elite FWIW.

I just picked one up yesterday. I replaced the grips, installed a TLR-1 light and some grip tape on the front strap and cleaned it. I am quite pleased with it.
Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun.
