Yes, and one nice thing is that you can clearly tell when it's partially cocked, and it protrudes when the trigger is being pressed.  That can come in handy when reholstering, if something is hitting the trigger you can feel it.  Might prevent the occasional ND.  Anyway, a nice feature that doesn't hurt if you don't need/care about it.

Does anyone know if the maga|zine release on the M2 reversable?

It is not reversible.

That sucks. Was interested in this offering.

I looked at one in person and the mags have a dual cut on them and the mag release looks like it might reverse so I'm confused. I kind of want to get one and try it myself.

The railless design leads me to think their planning on having their own laser/light design that will flush mount that that area, otherwise that is a compleat custerfuck of a mistake.

Not everyone likes lasers you know.

Personally when I choose to carry a small pistol (PPS classic) I do it because I want a smaller footprint, not something encumbered with a bunch of battery powered crutches used by most people
to mask poor shooting technique.

And I don't like to trust my life and limb to anything with a battery in it for that matter.

But that's just me.

I have no idea whatsoever why anybody would want a rail on a subcompact single stack.  How you going to fit the gun into your pocket with a light hanging off the end?

Anyway, I bought a PPS M2 a few weeks ago and IMO it is the best little 9mm out there.  I've run a few boxes thru it--a mix of 147, 124 and 115--and it's run perfectly on everything so far.  It is far more accurate than the Shield that I own. The PPS has just a little bit better trigger also but it is not the same trigger system that the PPQ uses so don't expect a trigger that light.

Everything about this new model appears to be well thought out and the grip with the 7rd mag inserted is perfect for a snug 3 finger hold.  Recoil is not sharp and is very manageable.  Just love this new Walther so far.  It has everything that you need on it and nothing that you don't.

Please do tell me how a rail would of hindered your ability to put in your pocket ????.( it's too large and heavy for that anyways ,it's a slim 9 not a pocket pistol.).   It dosnt ....yet a rail gives one options ...like a light or a laser...or heck both.

That way....wait for it......................people have options on how to use the weapon.  The cost difference maybe 10.00.

As for me that simple omittion means no sale. .  X who knows how many others......which relates in this class of firearms to a short life span.

There are lasers and lights for non-railed guns - I had one for the Beretta Nano.  Not sure why there isn't one yet for the PPS.

I am this close to buying a PPS M2.  I have no idea why. I have a Shield, it shoots well it's the same size there's no advantages of the PPS M2 over the Shield on paper at least except one, the cocked indicator rod thing. If you put your thumb over the slide  it prevents the trigger from being pressed accidentally which is super nice for reholstering, no worries of accidentally sending a round into your thigh or foot or ass as it may be. I don't think that's really enough to justify getting a different carry gun but I can't help myself I just fucking love Walthers so I am considering getting one and selling the Shield anyway.

I have an addiction.

Well I got the PPS LE Edition

Came with these weird yellow glow in the dark sights

I'm still going to end up replacing the sights. The only reason I got the LE edition was because it was only $30 more for the LE edition and came with a 3rd mag so I have a 6, 7 and 8 round magazine and I figured the mags were going for about that much so it was worth it. Game in a black case too which I'm indifferent towards.

Did anyone else notice this with their gun? What happens if I don't do it?

I'll check the date on my box when I get home. Maybe it's a more recent thing? Either way I emailed Walther to see what they have to say.

I heard back from Walther, if you don't push the trigger forward the slide won't go on the gun. Not a big deal.

I use a laser because I can't cover ground quickly and I like the OPTION of making a target respond out side of my usable range ...for me maybe that ten yards..or a 100...    then thiers the fact that low round count pistols benifite greatly with a laser for intimidating a target......few like the sight of a weapon laser on them...
Please consider the possibility that you may in your professional ability be missing options that others my find helpfull.....after all this is all about self-defence ....which means we don't get to choose when where or how many.

So, you carry a gun intimidate people? Either your life is in danger, or it isn't. Lasers are not going to make a difference with a 3" barrel at 100 yards.

I tend to agree with this. I think lasers certainly have their place in certain self defense sitautions and certainly in police and military work but I've come to accept that in a defense situation I'm going to be so hyped up on andreneline that I'm not even sure I'll use sights let alone a laser. I've basically decided that if someone tries some shit that I decide I need my pistol to unfuck I'm going to be lucky if I do anything other than point shoot.

I love my PPS - that being said if I had legit concerns about opponents at 100 yards I'd pick something else.  First off, a decent realtor.

I am surprised there aren't any lights or lasers yet - the real purpose is for low light conditions, where you can see the target but picking up one's sights is hard (for the laser) or to identify your target (the light).

Love it when someone claims options are a crutch for poor weaponcraft....your funny.. do you always put down people that think differently then you...

Your being thick on this subject .... .options . .because I don't get to chose when why and how many bad guys I get to deal with. .. ...I like options why is this such a hard concept for you?  ....

Picked up my PPS M2 today. Wow. I've missed out. Great little shooter. I'm looking forward to my Glock purge. PPQ M2 purchase is on deck

Tried out the prototype Apex trigger for the PPS M2 at the NRA convention.  Very nice trigger and worth the money.

Be advised, the PPS and the PPQ are two completely different shooting pistols. IMO, the PPS is a far better shooter than the PPQ. I wouldn't purge the Glocks just yet.

I really really really wish they'd make a "PPS M10" with a larger grip to accept the P99C magazine, and preferably an expanded 12 or 13 round mag also.

I'm of the opposite opinion. I think the ppq has a better trigger.

This is my daily carry pistol. I shot both the Shield and G43 and preferred the PPS M2 to both. Much easier to control and love the ergos.

Sounds like you got off easy, my wife first bought a LCP, then a 42, then a 43, then luckily borrowed a friends Shield, while she was trying the shield I had her try my PPS M1, which made her decide she wanted the PPS M2.

Will it work on the PPS M1 also?
