We just took this in on trade at work, looks like it's in excellent shape, 1965 PPK in .32acp (No imperfections what-so-ever, that's lighting & shelving reflecting in the polished blue finish). Considering picking it up for myself, but I have zero Walther knowledge. Comes with 2 mags, with & without bakelite extension, no box/manual/ect.. If I wait a month I get it for cost, or I can buy it now for $450. Look like it's worth it, but what should I be looking for? Thanks in advance (and apologies for the shitty cell pic)

Got any more info on this?  I called my local store and they said it's still $319.

That is a decent price, new Walther's are NOT the same as the old ones.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll wait it out. If it's still in the shop after 30 days I can get it for $250.

Here is a 1966 version that sold on Gunbroker for $995.00. PPK
Here is a 1963 version at Cabela's currently: PPK at Cabelas Price is $1,399.99

If I were you, I'd grab the one you are looking at now!  If that store has a lot of traffic, it won't last long at that price.

It definitely won't last a week at that price. They sell for double or nearly double that all the time.

If you are a gambling man wait a month, but I personally think you will lose it if you wait that long.

On gunbroker there are currently 11 lisitngs for PPK's. Of the 11 all but 2 are asking more than $450.00, some much more. The 2 that are less both have bids very early in the auctions which probably indicates the selling price will be higher...depending on the gun possibly much higher. I just bought an American manufactured PPK/S made in '78 for $380.00 and the consensus if I got a killer deal. Check my thread in this section.

I was told one of the managers was interested, so even if I waited and it made it a month, I probably wouldn't have been inline for it. So I figured f' it and bought it for $450.
I also talked to the guy that took it in on trade, the little old lady was the original owner, brought it to the states after purchasing it in Europe (think he said Italy). She gave a box of ammo with it, so I took it out on our range. At 5 yards 4 mags went into the same hole, literally. The pics don't do it justice, it's difficult to capture the deep blue. Very nice old piece.

I didn't get a pic of the bore, but the rifling looks like new. Probably why it shoots so well. The original owner took very good care of it. The pictures are also before a decent cleaning, after being shot by her, and then I and a few co-workers. After I cleaned it up today it looks even better.

Good for you sir.

Well done.

While I know I could find out thru trial & error, I figure I'd ask and save some cash, will this feed modern hollow points? Silvertips always come to mind when I hear .32 acp.

Hit or miss with JHP in one of that vintage.

Also you must remember that with projectiles that light, if they do expand, and that is a big if, they will severely under penetrate.

When I consider carry with a sub 9mm I always go with ball ammo, especially with an older design like the PPK.

I'm glad you went ahead and bought it.  Waiting for the price to drop to $250 would have been an error. Even at $450, you got an excellent deal!
Looks to be in really nice shape with minimal use!  You have a keeper there!

At the Medina gun show this weekend PPKs were going for $750
Nice score for 450.
From what I hear hard ball is best round for them.

Just got back with mine.  I was running all of my new MecGar replacements.....I forgot to take them down and lube them before I left.  Didn't matter.  They all ran like a dream.

I have GOT to ditch these Pachmayer grips, though.

OP, you are gonna love your PPk!!!!  .32 is the bomb!!!!!

Worth every penny.  No import or even Interarms marked.  Of course no S&W or recent production ahhhhh "thing"

Would bring short of 1k in Houston retail.

This first generation design is made to fire ball (FMJ) ammo.  If you insist it MAY feed something like Silvertip.  But don't count on it

Nice and glad you got . It would have sold in a weeks time
