Got my   PT111  from Taurus  but none of my existing Gen 1 magazines work ,  and I do not want to spend more money on magazines

I am hoping that I can tweak them to work  does any one have any links or directions on what needs to be done

or does anyone have a list of magazines that work with the Gen 2  ( cheaper than factory $$)

@gettingstarted What about them doesn't work? Do they not fit, feed rounds, or lock the slide back when empty? I got rid of my gen 1 a couple years ago, and I think that 1 of the mags I use on my gen 2 is a leftover from the gen 1. All of them look the same but 1 would work but fail to lock the slide back so I assumed that was the old mag. I could be wrong.

I also have 2 mags from the taurus 24/7. They hold 17 rounds. I had to buy some spacers that taurus makes to fill in the gap. There is still a little gap, as seen in the pic below, but for extra capacity at the range they work fine.

Gun has a 17 rnd mag inserted, 2nd mag is a 17 rnd with spacer removed, 3rd is a regular pt111 12 rnd for comparison.

The gen 1 magazines will not lock into place no matter how hard I try  -  IF I hold them in place very tightly then I can get the slide to to lock back ( empty mag) .

I am hoping someone knows of a tutorial to tweak Gen 1s ( magazines)  to fit the gen 2  pistols- maybe with a file or dremmel ?

Gen2 mags aren't that expensive.  25 dollars on grab a gun.
PT111 magazine.  Ignore the pic it's of the Gen1 mag but what you get is a Gen2 mag

If you want extra capacity SIG P226 mags will work in it.
