First handgun I ever got was a 24/7 pro LS, and its been an outstanding gun. I know some people here knock on taurus, but mine has been great to me and I would reccomend the 24/7 line to anyone looking for a nice reasonably priced pistol.

Series that don't sell well usually don't stay in the Taurus catalog long.

Theres alot of taurus hate for sure. They make a decent entry level gun. Ive had some and the one that did have some issues they replaced after the second repair attempt.

Mine has been reliable. The trigger pull is mushy and long, but other than that it is a good gun |

There are so many stories like this out there it's amazing. My PT1911 was my first and probably only Taurus. It was an okay looking gun stuffed with crap components. As an entry level gun Taurus is even worse! Most newbs aren't going to be able to fix them. Handguns should hold up under LOTS of rounds and take plenty of abuse, far too many Tauri need repair. I'd look for an M&P Pro, or a Glock 17L or a 34. They aren't too much more than a Taurus, and they carry much better track records. |
