Screws that mount the RMR thru the plate to the MOS are not long enough.

Only the first two to two and a half threads can get any bite.

Optic blew off the top of the weapon almost immediately.

Any thoughts? Is something out of specification?

Try it without the plate?  Pick longer screws?

Apparently the gunsmith that mounted everything up for me did not install the plate.

Now they are telling me that you dont need the plate and that just getting some longer screws will fix it.....????????

Your gunsmith is an idiot, remove it from his possession immediately.

Did you buy the Trijicon Sealing plate? If not, buy the plate and use the included screws with some locktite. Problem solved and staying solved.

There is absolutely no reason to bring this to a gunsmith.

Nah you don't necessarily need it. Though the sealing plate wouldn't hurt anything. Mainly, folks with MOS factory Glocks need the kit for the longer screws. Because the shorter screws that come with RMRs aren't long enough. But you RMR mounts directly to you slide. So teh original screws are fine

No harm. Go ahead and add it. Makes the optic waterproof to 30 feet.

It may or may not be, trijicon cannot control the surface finish of a gun milled by a third party, so they offer the sealing plate, which they can control.

Known issue.  You have to get the longer screw kit.
